MGM Resorts paid out a massive site fee to RocNation/Golden Boy, to hold the event, so the promoters actually didn't have any tickets to sell for the event.

for the amount of hype, exposure and sponsorship put behind golovkin, the way hes been marketing and selling out venues, it was the lowest ppv # since vitali fought danny williams over a decade ago, so yes, it flopped big time for an HBO PPV event.

Much better than I thought. I was expecting 500K. Though Cotto/Canelo were each other's Mayweather/Pacquioa in the rival sense. Who do they fight from here out to make the same kind of money?

those inflated "predictions" are just another form of promotion. if people believe that everyone else is buying your product then they're more likely to buy it themselves. there's a term for this but i forget it

overall looks like a good event, not bad and not great. they def made money from it with 900k and 58mill revenue.

              Solid Numbers

Solid numbers for a very good card. Golden Boy realizes that us fans are going to start looking at the entire Card not just the main event on pay per view cards.

We want the card to be worth our money. Glad they see that from a fans point of view.

Canelo is the face of the new generation of boxers. Hope they keep marketing him great and continue getting him great opponents.

it was pro canelo house, chances are the mexicans put more money into the event than puerto ricans IMO.
