i never said he didnt have a great resume..but this 155 stuff negates all of that..i mean the man fights everyone he is 15lbc heavier than and u expect me to say GREAT RESUME..HE IS 15LB HEAVIER HE SHOULDNT BE SCARED TO FIGHT ANYONE...i give ppl who fought him more credit! not to mention he is possible 1-2-1 in his biggest bouts...im not here to talk angulo and kirklan...but larr and flod beat him him and trout could be a draw..he outright beat cotto..that is the only fight he didnt need judges

I love Estrada but man is he being overrated now a days.. Why the hell did he go 10 rounds with someone who had 16 fights and the combined record of his opposition was 84-85-15? His last fight was Tyson Marquez for fXcks sake!

EXACTLY its sad that fans are now resorting to trying to rewrite history just to try and short change Canelo. Now we got people actually saying that Cotto was washed up when he fought him. lol But just 2 weeks ago Cotto was a new man under Roach having probably the most dominant 3 fight streak of his career in which he won the LINEAL Middleweight championship of the world and destroyed one of the BEST names on GGG's entire resume. Cotto vaulted back on the top 10 p4p lists based on these performances and had many included JMM predicting he would beat Canelo. But now that Canelo beats him he all a sudden he's some washed up fighter? I call BS.

And now you got people saying that nobody wanted Trout or Lara fights as a way to discredit his wins. News flash in 2012 Trout was GGG. He was in his prime undefeated world champ who just smacked around Cotto. He was the boogeyman that everyone said Canelo will NEVER fight Trout he's too much a risk look what he did to Cotto. And Canelo fought and beat him. In 2014 Lara world champ in his prime after beating Angulo and then beating Trout he was the new boogeyman a southpaw who can make you look bad in ugly fights. EVERYONE said Canelo would not fight him. Canelo fought and beat him. To say nobody was asking for these fight means you just started watching boxing yesterday because fans were asking and demanding this fight just like fans today are asking for GGG. Canelo been trying to fight Cotto for 3 years now but he kept turning down the fight so he fought Trout, Mayweather, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland and then Cotto finally agreed to fight and he beat him too. Say whatever you want about Canelo one thing you can't say is he is afraid to fight someone he has literally fought EVERYONE the fans want him to.

He didn't fight Lara again! There was enough reason to feel that Canelo may of gotten away with a win there. But they flat out refused it because they knew it.

And Trout was not the GGG. He was not literally destroying everyone that walked into the ring with him.

And Trout bested Cotto, but then Cotto did jack but go up, fight a wounded champ, weight drained Geale, and then lose to Canelo, who had 15 or more pounds on him. (And plenty of people complained about what Cotto did.)

If Trout would have liked elite after the Canelo fight, then sure, but he wasn't.

Canelo trying to drain GGG is the reason he is getting nailed right now.

Canelo failed to make weight at 154, has been at MW ever since, but somehow expects fans to gloss over the fact he wants to tilt the laying field.

He doesn't want to fight GGG. He wants to fight GGG (hopefully with less power).

That's enough to deserve the criticism.

Canelo being considered as the best mexican fighter right now just makes me sad, even Santa Cruz i feel has better potential, if only he stopped fighting bums.

Estrada is a great champion & fighter. I was impressed with his ability to go the distance with Gonzalez. Want to see that again. But I get his point. Canelo should fight GGG next year. GGG should meet ward at an agreeable weight.

Marquez reminds a lot of Michael Jordan and how at the end of his career he was so bitter of the next generation. Even years after he retired refuse to say anything nice about Kobe or pass the torch. And even today he still craps on Lebron. That chip on Marquez and Jordan's shoulder is what made them greats. They used that obsession to chase things down real or imaginary to fuel their workouts. But now when you done with the game or at the end you just look pathetic using that to slight the next generation of greats.

It's not about Estrada who is a good fighter in his own rights this is about his hatred and jealousy of the attention Canelo has gotten. Estrada fights in a weaker division and has faced lesser competition then Canelo. Canelo has fought in better divisions and faced better fighters. Again let the numbers speak for themselves Canelo has fought 8 world champs, 3 future hall of famers, 2 fighters that were top 10 p4p ranked in the world when he fought them, won titles in 2 divisions. The names of the guys Canelo has W's against are far greater then the ones Estrada has and the accomplishes across the board are greater then Estrada. Canelo is fighting and beating better fighter. This is only a debate because old bitter man Marquez refuses to publicly pass the torch to Canelo. Even though Mexicans have long time now anointed Canelo the best Mexican right now.

how am i reach when some alpabets dont allow you hydrate more than ten pounds..they know it is a an unfair advan....this is the exact reason chavez jr moved up and got exposed..
i got on walters as well for doing this..i give ppl who fight guys that are cheating weight classes way more credit..if you do not you are a joke..

i love canelo's style and i like that he has a following, but i do not like these huge rehydrates and i know several other ppl who feel this way..i came up with a term the 99%er's maybe a year ago...it was rigo pac and floyd...guys that only move up 4lbs or so....everyone seemed to be suck their bodies for advanates..canelo has his own 99% club...him walters and chavez jr..o yea and crawford as well they blow up 20 damn lbs and ppl call them great...enough already

Lara didn't beat canelo he talked a big game to get the fight then disgraced himself by running. Most fighters win or lose you face a big name on the big stage you gain exposure and it helps your fanbase. Yet the opposite happened to Lara who lost a close fight but the way he stunk the joint and embarrassed now haunts him. It's like a bad odor he can't rub off and look at his fights since no fans show up, no fans watch and the ones who do boo him. Lara lost that fight in the ring and with the hearts and minds of fans who still give him grief over it. And trout got dropped and admitted he lost the fight in his post fight interview. Draw my @ss. As for weight canelo makes weight and is not the first fighter to rehydrate after. And he did not have a 15lb advantage against Lara, Trout, Angulo, or Kirkland so stop with that. All those guys are huge and rehydrate a ton. Trout and Angulo have fought last 3 fights at middleweight, kirkland has fought multiple times at middleweight above 154 and lara is talking about moving up to middleweight and started his pro career weighing 158 at the same time when Canelo was fighting at 147. People forget 5 years ago canelo was a welterweight. All those guys i named cut a ton of weight just like Canelo yet i dont hear you bashing them because they make weight and all those guys normally rehydrate 10lbs or more on their opponets at 154.

he fought every fight you or any fans have asked him so again how is he being baby sat? Going by his track record I have no doubt he'll fight GGG because he's fought every fighter guys said he wouldnt so you can't say he is being baby sat, that just makes no sense. He also already fought in 3 different weight classes but you bashing him because he after 1 week winning the title he hasn't fought the best 160 fighter in the world. Yet GGG is over 30 and has yet to move up 1 weight class his ENTIRE career to challenge himself. GGG has yet to fight anywhere close to the competition Canelo has fought. Yet it's Canelo who has to prove himself not GGG? It's canelo who is baby sat despite all these tough fights he's taken but not the long list of fighters I have named in my previous post who have belts for over a year and haven't even fought the top 5 in their weight class yet and those guys all much older then canelo? That's my point it's hypocrisy at its best.

This was Canelo's moment to shine. Big fight, big buildup, fighting a star(ok a faded one but WTF).
He's younger, bigger, stronger, pretty much at his physical peak and yet Cotto gives him all he can handle for 12 rounds.So either Cotto's had a miracle rebirth at middleweight or Alvarez is mostly hype.
I choose the latter and see GGG with a stoppage inside of 10 rounds.
