This is bull ****. The IBF is supposed to be supporting title unification's, not stripping unified champions. I remember when Zab Judah was the unified champion and lost to Baldomir, the IBF allowed Zab to keep his title b/c Baldomir didn't pay their sanctioning fee.

This is why being unified champion is such a meaningless phrase nowadays. It's literally impossible to hold on to every belt because the sanctioning bodies are too conflicted in interest to allow one man to honour each of their separate obligations.
I think people need to let go of the fact that the sanctioning bodies hold any relevance nowadays. It's the man who makes the belts, not the other way round. Fury could drop every belt tomorrow and it wouldn't matter a jot to his standing among the public at large. If I was Fury I'd tell the IBF to go **** themselves. They're clearly not willing to grant him any leeway in this so why should Fury continue to pay their fees? What value do they bring him?
Let Glazkov and whatever anonymous idiot fight over that worthless trinket. See what it brings them.Last edited by Fury4daWIN; 12-02-2015, 05:32 PM.Comment

He could of got a voluntary in if main event didn't do that nut stuff and ask for an immediate purse bid for glazkov they could of negotiated but duva the dyke did a sucker move so I better not here anymore complaints when a promoter does it to KrusherComment

the ibf belt is hard to keep when you have many belts as every other fight would have to be a potential bad money fight.
if fury has to vacate he might as well. even if he loses his next fight or a rematch to wlad he's already cemented his legacy imoComment

So does Glazkov become the IBF champion or will he have to fight for the title?
If you look at the current rankings by the IBF (this was pre Klitschko - Fury)
1. Vyacheslav Glazkov
2. NOT RATED
3. Tyson Fury
4. Charles Martin
5. Erkan Teper
6. Steve Cunningham
7. Artur Szpilka
8. Lucas Browne
9. Anthony Joshua
10. Carlos Takam
11. Andy Ruiz
12. Bermane Stiverne
13. Mariusz Wach
14. Kubrat Pulev
15. Andrey Fedosov
I'm guessing he'll fight Charles Martin for the vacant belt. If Martin beats that football, which he should.
But isnt Duva also talking to Haymon about putting Glazkov in with Wilder?
Obviously she would have dumped the Wilder fight for the Fury fight, but now with Fury off the table wouldnt the Wlder fight be her best option?Comment

He would have to fight for it vs the highest ranked available, willing, contender.

And this is exactly what I feared would happen, even though I like Fury and find him hugely entertaining. Sure, it's nice to have a fresh face at the top of the HW division and the entire sport of boxing itself, but it also means the unified titles are heading straight to splitsville just like in 1993.
It took 5 years for Wladimir to unify them with hard work and patiently fighting all mandatories, and the WBC was/is almost within reach, so this is not a good thing.Comment

Sanctioning organizations do not recognize immediate rematch clauses, nor should they. I wish more was done to eliminate them. You shouldn't have to beat the champion twice in a row to be the champion. Whether it's Klitschko or Lewis or whoever, if you lose fair and square, get in line.
Shame on Fury for accepting the rematch clause when he was the mandatory.
Hopefully Wilder quickly picks up the IBF belt, so a potential Fury vs Wilder match can still give us an undisputed champion.

Glozkov has to fight for the title. If he was the interim champion, then he would become the champion, but he's simply the #1 ranked contender.
Since Wilder and Glazkov were planning to fight anyway, since the IBF #2 spot is vacant and since #3 won the title and is giving up the belt, I'd like to see the IBF allow Glazkov to fight Wilder in January for the vacant title.Comment
