Other compareable big fights overseas that HBO aired live during the afternoon such as Froch Groves 2 did 700k viewers, klit vs Pulev did 620k. GGG did over 800k for one of his overseas fights. All of those were considered a success for non prime time and reached 1 mil when you combine the re-air in prime time later that night for fans who missed it live. But 1mil live alone in the afternoon blows all those away. Huge success for HBO. Hell the late night ratings are similarly impressive crushing showtime with 3 replay fights lolComment

Showtime's official numbers just came out and it's a blood bath.
HBO replays that fight along with replays from last weeks canelo/Cotto fight and the undercard Vargas fight. That's 3 fights all old fights with the outcome already known head to head with Showtime card with Degale.
Canelo vs Cotto did over 901k
Vargas did 772k
3rd replay of the night of Fury fight 676K (over 1.7m when you add the afternoon live boadcast)
Showtime
Geale vs Bute 269k
Undercard fights did 191k and 173k
Showtime aired all live fights and got murdered by HBO's late night replay of old fights. 3X-4X the ratings with non live fights. That's amazing. Wow Showtime must be p i ssed they spent that money for that card that nobody watched.Comment
