if joshua has ever passed a drug test, it shows how utterly pointless they are
he looks more roided out than most pro bodybuilders
Virtually all fights have testing only day before fight and after the fight. You just cycle off before the test, or you use another drug to mask testosterone use like Floyd did.
Its extremely easy to get around testing in boxing. Its a joke. Its designed to not catch people really.
Joshua looks like he has hardcore hgh gut. I'm sure he is very strong. But he is going to have injury problems his whole career. And he will never have great stamina.
The argument is that the bigger the muscles the more oxygen they need is a fair one. But it still relies on the heart as a pump and red blood production.
I bet Joshua's heart at rest is slow and powerful. That thing is probably literally bigger than a guy like Tyson's who visually at least you would think is better suited for an endurance sport out of the two. But Boxing is largely anaerobic, no?
Tough one. Not sure big muscles necessarily equate to crap stamina.
Anthony Joshua has the most aesthetic physique for a HW boxer.
Wladimir Klitschko and Mike Tyson both split the prize for the most functional "CHAMPIONSHIP" physique of a boxer based on their comparitive duality. One represents the pinnacle of the outfighter whereas one represents the pinnacle of the infighter (no garbage about the definiton of an "infighter", Tyson closed the distance, Wlad strove to maintain it).. Each can beat the other depending on circumstances.
The most interesting story however is this...
The best physique possible for the AVERAGE boxer throughout history.
When you think about it, THIS is the most realistic and useful measure.
It turns out that the best physique for the average boxer in this age is about 6'3", with a degree of athleticism and muscles but also somewhat CHUBBY!
Going by pure success rates over all boxers, the top 10 boxers in practically all HW eras were mostly from slightly through somewhat to even grossly chubby!
And anybody who is down with the facts knows why.
NOTE: The above category is mentioned "throughout history". This negates it's actual application height to modern boxing (and concominant weight also), because of the dramatic size increase in modern HW boxing. The fact that being chubby was effective still holds true!
None of the above for me!
Ali at 6' 3-4" 210-220lbs with long lean muscle void of peaks that need blood and steal oxygen from the system is the best body for boxing. He was very
prepotionate with outstanding facial features that never seemed to show signs of swelling or abrasions.
Wasn't heavy in his legs or back or chest and displayed the most coordination of any heavy then and now. The fastest 200+ heavyweight to date both hands & feet and no one has better stamina for the 15 rounds than he did, no one.
Perfect heavyweight boxer physique. All the right ingrediants.
Oh yeah best chin too, never been KO'd either.
