I would say I'm surprised to see Mike Tyson has more votes, but... this is boxingscene after all. How any boxing fan could possibly think Tyson left behind a better legacy than Mayweather is beyond me.

Legacy my friend. Tyson fought everyone and anyone. Never ducked anyone. faced all comers head on.

Floyd shouldn't even be in the same breath as Tyson.

      This is a dumb thread.

Floyd's legacy is garbage, he's never fought a prime, young, fighter who wasn't weight-drained - apart from Zab Judah. That's it! Zab Judah. That's the only fighter Mayweather fought who was top tier (but not elite), who was young, fast and wasn't weight-drained.

Zab Judah is the only viable name on Mayweather's entire record so you could actually argue the opposite of what you said. You could say Mayweather has the worst record of any long-standing champion in history. Probably even worse than Wladimir if you think about it? At least Wladimir fought Haye, Pulev, Povetkin, Fury - that's already more prime fighters than Floyd ever fought. Kinda crazy if you think about it realisitically.

Floyd didn't even win fighter off da Decade..u forgot to mention Roy Jones Jr if u go back 20 yrs..undisputed P4P #1 while Floyd was fighting..he won da heavyweight belt. .now da last 10 yrs yes Floyd was da best. .u can argue Pac da 1st 5 yrs of those 10..but don't say 20yrs.. u probably didn't even know Floyd b4 da Oscar fight like most didn't. .as for da poll Q....Tyson..yes he was a side show post prison..beat a few bums..lose vs good fighters. .but those fighters didn't even want to go near Tyson in his prime.

As a boxer Mayweather is better than Mike Tyson. As a brawler and puncher Tyson is better. Though... unlike Tyson, Mayweather possesses the qualities of a great champion -- heart, willpower in the championship rounds, and the ability to overcome adversity. Tyson has shown heart but that's it. Also, he lost most of his big fights, whereas Mayweather won all his fights and big fights.

If Tyson and Floyd were the same size, Mayweather would win... possibly by KO. Tyson is an overrated, hyped up street fighter. Mayweather is a legit boxer -- skill wise, better than Ali.

Legacy what ****ing legacy does Floyd have ? Cherry picking PED's I mean the guy never challenged any elite fighter in his prime ..This has to be a joke ..

Mike even though had his losses fought the best heavy weights of his era ..

In time Floyd will be forgotten his flow mos still keep hi. Relevant but the guy is a PED cheat and the highest paid cherry picker of all time

I'm no fan of Floyd's but I see evidence of his legacy virtually every time I watch a fight these days. Somewhere on that card you will find someone attempting to fight like Mayweather. He has inspired a giant portion of the generation of fighters who came up watching him and while 99.99999999999% of them will never quite get that shoulder roll down perfectly, I'm of the thinking that 50 years down the line you'll still see prospects coming up attempting to master that man's style. I've seen fighters drop their hands in front of their opponent and turn the shoulder, allowing themselves to be hit (like Mike Seals), and you know exactly where they got it from.

He never says Mayweather invented the shoulder roll. The guy you're replying to is pointing out the fact that Floyd has popularized the shoulder roll moreso than any other fighter. That is all.
