You see HBO give up on fighters if they lose a fight. Haymon will have you fighting again in a couple of months. Dusty Harrison was a top prospect who lost his step up fight to Willie Nelson. Harrison was back on tv a cpl of weeks ago fighting again. Paul Williams said he still talks to Haymon on a regular basis and Haymon helps him out. He's had Jacobs doing TV work. Jacobs isn't really good right now but it's a start. I remember Jalen Rose being horrible when he'd do TV work during his off-season and now he's one of the best. He's allowing fighters an opportunity to make a living in their chosen field. What's so bad about that? Boxing fans seem to love the story of the boxer who made millions and ended up broke. Haymon is trying to reverse that trend. Kellerman admitted to beating his girlfriend and Lamps was questioned about beating his. I don't see the calls for HBO to fire them. Merchan was drunk every show!
You are really comparing Larry Merchant's alcohol use to Tarver's steroid use. Its not even in the same ballpark. Tarver is in a sport that can kill people. Plus if Tarver has 0 respect for the networks he is working for ie commentating then why should you care if he keeps his job or why he should keep his job. He worked for Showtime as a commentator and he also fought on Showtime and got them to pay him more than a million $ for a fight he tested + for steroids. He basically gave Showtime a big middle finger by doing this. Then he goes over to Spike as a commentator and then gets paid a ton of $ for another fight and not only puts up a ****ty fight he again gets popped for steroid use. Again he gives another network the middle finger.

He fights on these networks gets popped for illegal steroid use for fights on the very networks he has a commentary job and you still think he deserves a job on these very same networks. At least Showtime did the right thing and told Tarver to shove that finger up his as*.

Most of you all are for the PBC because you think it will bring boxing back to the masses. What does it say to the public about boxing or PBC for that matter that one of their most well known fighters has been popped for steroid use twice in less than 3 years and in light of his steroid use he is the face of boxing or PBC on Spike. Does is say that PBC is tolerant of steroid use. Of course it does. Does it say that PBC is not serious about cleaning up the sport and keeping it free of steroid use? Again, yes.

PBC has also refused to issue any statement on the matter. I guess fighters who are PBC fighters and test + for steroids, PBC will just ignore the fact. PBC has not suspended Tarver like the UFC would do. They won't even say a word about it. If it was marijuana use I would not care. But those who profess to care about the safety of fighters should give a damn.

So the only thing you took out of that was Merchant's alcohol abuse. Should Kellerman be fired for beating his girlfriend? Should Roy Jones be fired for using steroids? So you're ok with HBO hiring women beaters as commentators (unless it's Floyd) and you're ok with HBO hiring steroid abusers as commentators.

If Kellerman did beat his gf then yes he should be gone. If Jones had a fight recently in which he got busted for steroid use then yes he should be fired and I suspect HBO would fire him. But if Jones somehow got a fight on HBO and tested + for this very same fight HBO would have a **** fit and can him immediately. Just like Malignaggi should be **** canned for his sexism towards women. Specifically the things he said during the Broner press conference and other times in which he denigrated women and said a whole lot of di****able things towards women.

Tarver a damn cheater however should that stop him from being a commentator? Im ify about this cause I sure as hell dont want him calling fights where other fighters have cheated cause 1 of 2 things will happen the commentators will just completely ignore the fact nor bring it up that the fighter where watching has cheated or tarver will sounds like a damn hypocrite talking about it.

Is the original poster suggesting that Tarver's MANAGER should take away his only source of income (commentary)? What kind of manager would that make Haymon? It's his fiduciary duty to maximize Tarver's income.
But Haymon has a larger responsibility and that is to PBC and boxing in general. It seems to me that Haymon has a conflict of interest. It is as if Dana White was Chel Sonnen's personal manager and he owns UFC. That is a conflict of interest don't u think?

Do You know PBC has not issued a statement on the matter. The press has contacted PBC about this many times and PBC refuses to give a statement,a response, or anything. They are just trying to sweep this under the rug and hope people forget. Is that how you want boxing to respond when it comes to drug cheats. Any other promoter would give a statement or an explanation, but I guess PBC gets to do business by a double-standard I mean another standard.

                What do you mean if?

Kellerman said they both had too much to drink. He said when he tried getting things under control his then girlfriend slapped him. Kellerman said he slapped her back. He was quick to tell listeners that the woman is now is his wife and they have been happily married for 20 years.

Another ESPN mouth is in hot water. The Daily News has learned ESPN has suspended Max Kellerman for an inappropriate conversation on ESPN-LA Radio surrounding Ray Rice and domestic abuse. Kellerman…

And remember this is just Max's side of the story. She never reported it just like Ray Rice wife never reported it. She's stuck by Max just like Ray Rice's wife has stuck by him. More domestic violence incidents go unreported than reported. And the abused will stick by their significant other. That's why laws have been changed in states to have the State pursue charges even if the abused doesn't pursue charges.

Well they didn't. Roy Jones has tested positive on numerous occasions. Why do you think he's fighting in Russia?

First off, Jones is not fighting in Russia bcuz of steroid use, that is a ****** statement. You know Russia tests for steroids too. He is fighting there bcuz he is 46yrs old and no one in the US will pay to see him so he has to go to Russia for fights. I already said if Kellerman is an abuser and there is evidence of it then he should be fired. A slap for a slap is far from as you called it "beating women". That is the best you have? Talk about scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Put Roy Jones's + drug tests up for all to see. I read about him and accussations in the 90s, but where are the positive tests from the state commissions? Put up a source if your gonna make statements like that. Just bcuz you believe it does not make it fact.

So if this is true about Jones then you think HBO should fire him? The same for Kellerman?
