Banks gave him all the right advice from the opening bell. If you listen to every single time they captured his instructions in-between rounds, he was always on point. As early as round 2 he was telling Wladimir he had to be more active, had to step in with the jab, don't linger on the outside. He had a sense of urgency from early on in the fight as if he could foresee exactly what would happen if Wladimir kept doing what he was doing.

Banks was excellent in that fight, it was Wladimir who either didn't listen or was unable to carry out his instructions - probably because he's stuck in his ways as a fighter and couldn't adapt.

And I say all that after thinking Wladimir might need to get rid of Banks before the fight started, simply because of Banks losing to Mitchell and then creating a strange scenario in the team where your trainer has lost to a low-level fighter, thereby chipping away at his credibility. But Banks was very good indeed, Wladimir just doesn't listen to him, maybe he doesn't respect him but more likely he's just a bit arrogant. It looked like he wasn't listening to Vitali either.

I'm a fan of Wlad's but this is not Banks' fault. This is on Wlad.

I think Brewster would be a perfect fit for Wladimir they all have the same kind of demeanor about themselves

If he went with Garcia then, despite the fact that he's a Heavyweight, he'd miraculously develop trouble making weight...

Even if you're telling Wlad the proper instructions, you have to convey the urgency in a certain way. Can you imagine the meltdown Steward would have been having as Wlad was losing his title in such a fashion? Even in the Jennings fight he probably have been losing his ****.

Tough loss for everyone..no need to ditch it all at this age, it will look like a mid-life crisis. Nobody can replace Steward's presence but maybe they can bring in another more forceful animated voice to speak who was around for those camps and know what made Wlad angry? Banks is good, but maybe too laid back? Extended kronk family - james ali bashir bigger voice or something? Wlad could have used a scolding

Banks did give good advice in the corner.

Maybe bring in Javan "Sugar" Hill as co-trainer to give extra insight on What Would Emmanuel Steward Do?

He needs to let his hands go and fight like a damn man. That **** was pathetic on Saturday. He was grabbing Fury like this was an MMA fight.

he's been fighting the same exact way for ten years. stay out of range and grab when his opponent gets close. i said fury would win easily a year ago because wlad's not actually a good boxer. he's good at not letting smaller opponents box by holding them but that's about it.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, he's 39 years old... It's not like his new trainer is going to tell him to go to the body and Wlad will listen.
