If this is the case, wouldn't the same apply for Chavez and Froch?

Can you see how posters would have an issue?
Valid point, but missing a little context.

The "up and down" wasnt really an issue by itself, as you correctly state, he would have had to do the same for a Froch or Chavez fight.

Where the context comes in, is what the Ward fans were pushing. They were saying that their preferred fight order was Smith, GGG, and then Kovalev, because they didnt think it was fair to have Ward go from 172, to 175, and then back down to 168. So in their minds, a +3 rise, followed by a -7 drop, was too much to ask. But they were expecting GGG to go from 160, up to 168, and then back down to a likely 157 for Cotto-Canelo winner. So its unfair to ask Ward to do a +3 and then -7 scenario, but unless GGG agrees to a +8 and then -11 scenario, its a duck???

So it wasnt so much the up and down that was the issue, but how the Ward stans were framing it.

(and yes, theres alot of math in that post so I dont expect most of the GGG Hate Squad to be able to follow along)

For example, when you are mandatory for a title and ask to be paid step aside money, its usually because you want next. GGG couldnt get those mandatory spots if he was fighting at 168. They wouldnt allow it.
The primary goal is always money. Every single fighter that has lived.

But money and belts tend to mingle together, and money isn't everything, but its the first important thing, if not the most important. And the easiest way to unify is by being a big name that attracts big fights, being a mando is no guarantee.

If GGG had a big fight with Froch and had won, that would be better than being a mando. How many mandos languish without getting a title shot?

GGG is still having that prob, Canelo refusing to defend against GGG the mando. Being mando don't mean much. Much better to make a name for yourself, that is the only guarantee in boxing.

The problem is if the fight is at 172 GGG wouldn't have to come in at 172 so you don't know how much weight he would have to drop.

I think its unfair to act like the Canelo fight is going to happen. The whole point of the Ward fight was because it appeared unlikely he could get Canelo or Cotto to fight him.

If GGG could get quality fights he wanted at 160, then neither ward, chavez or froch would be discussed.

didn't you tell me in a green karma message that you are going to try and be impartial?

froch is a bigger draw than ward, but to say that ward is unknown is fanboyish. that's how a child talks.
