Comments Thread For: Klitschko: I Just Couldn’t Land Against Tyson Fury

Wladimir Klitschko barely landed a thing on Tyson Fury. That’s not a surprise given how rarely he threw — limited activity he said was due to what Fury was doing.

“I wish there would be more clean shots that I could land. I couldn’t find the right distance to land those shots,” Klitschko said at the post-fight press conference. “Tyson was quick with his hands and his body movement and his head movement. I couldn’t land the right punches.”

No you could land there was just not a 100% chance that you would land perfectly every time you threw without taking something back.

Trying to be perfect was his prison and Fury was there with the right abilities to make it happen.

Well if you don't throw punches of course you won't land anything. You beat yourself and have no one else to blame. You NEVER went to the body once and on the inside, you simply tied up, NEVER attacking, wasting opportunities.

Wlad's desire to have that clean looking professional style that gets itself safe and steady before he executes was his downfall. Fury was to hard to read, therefore Wlad did not feel comfortable engaging because it wasn't a given that he would land clean and effectively the majority of the time. He could have made it a fight, he could have took it to Fury and let his hands go, the shots would have presented themselves then wouldn't they? His problem was that Fury didn't let him feel secure and steady enough to go at it.

Wlad just never went to da body with his jab..did no inside work ..he just held Fury. .. his team was telling him to go to da body he just never did it..a bit hesitant to throw punches maybe bc of Furys power n reach..but he should at least done some work in da inside..but he so uses to just clinching n holding vs smaller fighters..he just held Fury.

Well Fury is bigger, Wlad has always had the size advantage over his opponents. When he didn't in this fight he couldn't do anything.
