Is Wladmir's jab overated?

Nope. Vlad has a great jab. He just needs to set a bit to throw it. Fury neutralized the jab with his footwork, it had nothng to do with his own jab. Fury was actually quite sloppy with his jab, probably because, he is still develping the coordination and confidance to throw his jab in the ring like he was with his trainer on the pads. When he can look out!!! Like Ali fury is trying to throw his jab without setting the feet. This makes it untelegraphed and fast.
But Vlad can ko with his jab once he gets it going.Comment

I agree with you in the big picture, but Vlad has been able to employ his jab against big men. But yes...the minute you take a fighter who can move, knows the tricks, can use, even if not being a specialist, a wide range of techniques, we see how weak this era of boxing is for the big men.yes......but people here won't admit it...I like Wlad(presonality wise, hate his boxing) but he has always been crap in boxing terms...just a talented(physically, with size and power) big man in a very weak era, who got toyed with by a man who had enough size and speed to neutralize Wlad's physical gifts....Comment

I stopped watching heavyweight fights when these Wlad became champ.
Boring... and truthfully, much of Wlad's "greatness..." was due his range/reach advantage. He can jab the shyt out of you from 5 feet away and hug you when you get inside like a chinless btch.Comment

ive always respected wlad even tho i couldnt stand his excessive clinching style and crap opponents....

but he just lost to a dude who uppercutted himself doe.
its the boxing equivalent of the butt fumble.Comment

Honestly it maybe overrated bcuz personally a boxer with a great jab can land on a boxer of any height/reach. Last night klitchkos jab was non existent on a boxer with a height/reach advantage. His jab is good but not great like we all thought.Comment
