Seeing William Joppy beat the **** out of a 47 year old Duran was sad. Nowing that would never of happen to Duran in his prime.
Damn..yeah. That was sad, too. In situations like that, I wonder what the hell the younger champion is thinking it will do for his career. The Duran that beat Barkley would have stopped that Joppy, to say nothing of the one that punished Davey Moore or went 15 with Hagler. Ball-less is the only word that comes to mind for me. William Joppy was a mediocre fighter who was lucky enough to come along when the title was fragmented...after he signed for that fight, any respect he might have earned from me went the hell out the window.
i was watching this good fight. chavez - johnson. Chavez was doing great, he performed his best. i really liked the fight. a couple days later Johnson passed away. i got a copy of that fight, it went from a fight i like to watch to a fight that i cant see more than 1 round.
L. johnson RIP I wish the best for his family, and hope that no other boxer or their family have to go trough this.
