Um, dur he's scared of getting hit, he's got a glass jaw. If you knew that you were going down if you took one on the chin wouldn't you hold?

Tactics don't matter. Whoever gets the W at the end of the match is who gets the spoils, machismo or not

A boxer does not have to be macho. What's chicken **** on the streets is smart in the ring. Ali made a career of it and he's worshipped by the majority of the boxing community

Personally, it was Peter's job to hurt Wlad, not Wlad's to get hit. If Peter got tied up, it's his fault. Maybe if he threw combos Wlad wouldn't have a chance to clinch. Maybe if he used his feet to get away from Wlad's hugs, he'd have won instead of Wlad.
well said, excellent point, good k for sure

no. Wlad hit Pete wit a jab then HUGGED. Repeat that sequence all throughout the fight and you got a guy that irrates the sport of boxing. Hit and hug is gay bottom line. It should be hit, THEN THE other guy clicnhes. Wlad's tactics are just something many people wouldn't like. Sure he KOes people, but doing that, "hit then hug the guy he punched" is pretty gay.

Too me one of the real beauties of the Calzaghe vs. Lacy bout was the way Joe refused to play it safe the entire fight.

Joe could have hit cruise control about round 7 and won the fight going away but what did he do? The guy came out round after round like he needed to score a KO to win the fight-his performance in the 12th was just something you dont usually see or expect to see form a fighter who has one every minute of every round.

One of the reasons why I have always been a Joe Calzaghe ball licker is because he will never back down and never play it safe...Joe is an "all in" type fighter...thankfully the rest of the boxing world has finally figured this out.

I don't see the logic behind your argument. I know, you know, everybody knows that Wladimir would get knocked into next week if he decided to trade with Sam Peter. A fighter can't fight out of his element. Another problem is, and I'm not naming names, is there are alot of fighters that don't go hard in sparring. They are used to only fighting in comfort zones, as opposed to facing adversity and growing.
