I am sick of "Let's Play It Save"

Don't get me wrong, I know playing it save is the smart way to go, but it is not crowd pleasing, if you ask me.

Felix Sturm vs. Masoe : Sturm clearly ahead on points was only running away for the rest of the fight. He's a boxer, but no fighter.

Wladimir Klitschko vs. Samuel Peter : Holding, running, turning around. Now he chose Byrd instead of Brewster.

    Just two examples, no offence.

On the other hand you got boxers that really fight the best and try as hard as they can. Lamon Brewster, John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman, Joe Calzaghe / Jeff Lacy, Mayweather.

    Do you agree with me?

    playing it safe?

if you got the fight won, will give the other guy a chance to steal it away

I hate holding more then running. The Wlad fight is a good example, he got away with alot of holding in that fight, if I was the ref, he would've lost at least 2 points or get DQ.

If you know you cannot lose the fight on points, why not impress even more by knocking your opponent out?

Gunstar1, great pic. Would have deducted points, too.

Wlad shoulda been DQed against Peter. That was some wack tactic. Clearly took away the lil respect I have fo Wlad. Like Pete said "Fight like a man". Pete clearly hurt his ass wit them 3 knockdowns and Wlad went coward mode.

on a related story, Tarver did the same excessive holding against Glen Johnson in the 12th round of their 2nd fight. PIssed me off a lil, but not as much as Wlad did cuz, Tarver already did his job in the fight and he really gassed out.

that's strange.......who won in those fights again?

A boxer does not have to be macho. What's chicken **** on the streets is smart in the ring. Ali made a career of it and he's worshipped by the majority of the boxing community

Personally, it was Peter's job to hurt Wlad, not Wlad's to get hit. If Peter got tied up, it's his fault. Maybe if he threw combos Wlad wouldn't have a chance to clinch. Maybe if he used his feet to get away from Wlad's hugs, he'd have won instead of Wlad.

Holding because you got no gas left is one thing, but holding because you are afraid to get hit (as a boxer!!) - completely different story.

Wlad, but not impressive victory I would say. Gettin dropped 3 times brutally hurt his "W".

exactly. Wlad is scared of gettin hit bottom line. He hugged Pete like a grandma he hasn't seen in years. Gay tactic IMO. Undeserving of respect.
