The ring is an absolute disgrace. The people who think this canvas is acceptable are probably the same people who think Wladimir is "classy". The guy is a sneak, a cheat, and he always plays dirty tricks on opponents to gain advantages before the fight.

you know what its because stunts like this that wlad wont ever be seen are a great champion, its a tainted record he has using his jab against much lesser competition

wlad wouldnt last in other eras, he's just got lucky the heavyweight division is crap at the moment

I think Klitschko was just trying to get under his skin and play the "mind games." They never intended to go forward with the fight on such a cushy canvas.

Come on man! Fury is the more mobile fighter, the ring conditions are designed so that you don't sink into the ring when you step! Look at how much of an imprint the foot made on that ring. There should be no imprint on the surface.

But he's fighting on 40 year old legs and has been known to gas. Even in his championship reign, he doesn't go 12 rounds very comfortably imo.

Unless his plan is to make Fury more static so he can nail him quickly.

From what I remember tyson fights on his toes and wlad is flat footed also tyson sometimes switches to southpaw so he needs to plant his feet

Wladimir Klitschko is not flat footed.

No he isn't but he plants his feet a lot more and tends to take short shuffle steps as opposed to Fury's skipping and dancing around the ring, rapid changes of direction, shifting stances etc. One fighter spends significantly longer on the balls of their feet than the other.

When i first read the headline, i thought it might just be Fury adding a bit more last minute controversy and attention to the fight, but that is ridiculous.

I've seen some fights in Russia where they use a canvas like that, looks like a good training method and potentially makes fights more fan friendly.

Fury should leave the canvas in place, it'll be softer for him to land on.
