Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford Hopes Pacquiao Selects Him Next

WBO junior welterweight champion Terence 'Bud' Crawford (27-0, 19KOs) is hoping to become the next opponent for eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who looks to retire following his next fight.

Crawford is one of the leading candidates in the running to face Pacquiao. The others are Amir Khan and WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.

The unbeaten champion started the year off in April, when he knocked out Thomas Dulorme in six rounds. He was back in the ring in October, knocking out Pacquiao's former sparring partner Dierry Jean in ten.

I hate that there are "people" out there who actually had any doubt from the beginning that this Crawford guy was getting this fight, making it necessary to put on these public charades. Bob ArumbergStein Makes more money if Crawford gets the fight. It wont go any other way. Never was going to.

I'd Rather See Kell Brook vs Manny Pacquiao

Brook at least deserves the fight, having crossed the pond, beating Shawn Porter for a 147 belt. I like Crawford a lot, but he hasn't even fought at 147, don't believe he's even fought full on at 140, and not comparing Crawford to Algieri, who was dropped 6x by Pac, but Broner also found it to be a big jump in talent fighting welterweight's best. Crawford like Khan-job, need to prove themselves against 147 top contenders before landing a lottery ticket with Pacquiao; neither deserve nor have earned a shot at Manny. Bradley is more deserving, yet no reason for that fight. Pacquiao schooled Bradley twice despite a horrible decision in the first fight. I'd much rather see Manny fight the best Welterweight title holder Kell Brook whom Khan won't fight, whom Rios wouldn't fight, in a rabid Wembley Stadium. A huge payday for both, two guys who beat the best at 147, would make for an action pack fight.

Don't blame Crawford for chasing the big fish but would've liked to see him vs Postol first. This is a good fight though, the best of the possible Pac matchups.

                Well Deserved

I think Mr. Crawford deserves a shot. He's Top 10 pound for pound. He's earned his strips and got to where he's at the hard way. Very little pub until a few years ago.

He deserves a major stage with PAC. His skills are reminiscent of a smaller Hagler. He's part of the new Era of knockouts just like GGG, Roman Gonzalez, and Kovalev.

He's can be the new face of boxing. If not him Khan deserves the shot. I just hope Pac picks him.

This is strictly a money fight for Crawford. That's good for him but I don't think he can beat Pacquiao and I would rather see him fight at 140 which is becoming a hot division.
