Golovkin's overmatched opponents are rated in the top 10-15 of his division and generally on a win streak or atleast not coming off multiple losses (Paul Smith). They're not old washed up fighters from a lower division (Rodriguez/Zaveck for Lara, Konecny for Quillin) and they're not young inexperienced fighters (Zerafa for Quillin or Dunn/Murdock for Ward).

Golovkin actually rejected Jarrod Fletcher for a fight in favor of Geale, when Fletcher was made his mando. Jacobs jumped at the chance for Fletcher. Golovkin rejected Fernando Guerrero over Gabe Rosado, b/c they were afraid Guerrero was too easy. Quillin jumped at Guerrero for an opponent but then struggled with Rosado. Quillin learned his lesson about taking Golovkin's leftovers when he rejected Macklin in favor of Konecny.

Lara could've fought similar level of opposition to Golovkin, then instead of Zaveck or Rodriguez he would've fought Maciel, Clottey, Nelson, or Rabchenko. And yet he turned down Clottey for Zaveck.

YES! You're fighting an uphill battle if you're really trying to argue Golovkin's resume...

Lara is delusional sold out? There was like 100 people there and most of them only there because they were given free tickets. That's not a sell out. And beating a 40 year old washed up welterweight who only showed up for a paycheck means nothing. You are boring fighter with no fan base who has been fighting terrible competition the last few fights. Why isn't he fighting any of the top guys haymon has? Instead running his mouth about non haymon fighters who have no reason to fight him because he brings nothing to the table. He runs his mouth almost as much as he runs in the ring. You fighting on wed nights for a reason.

I pay money for guys who entertain so yes, I would rather see GGG vs Lemieux.

Lara with the exception of a few fights, has mostly put me to sleep. I would rather my HBO subscription money which I only have because of boxing, go to a more entertaining fight. Let Lara prove that he has learned from his mistakes and can keep this "new" more aggressive boxing style for more than just one fight.

Are you telling me you were entertained by his fight with Nelo? His fight with Molina? Rodriguez? Hernandez? Vanes?

a 5th ranked MW and a 5th ranked JMW are not the same thing. you seem ot think they are.

chocolatito has fought better comp than both, i suppose. he should move up.

              those are not MWs,

a string of mediocre JMWS are worse than a string of mediocre MWS

you guys really don't get it, which is fine. i can show a horse the water. i can't make him drink it.

Depends who they are and how strong the division is.

Lara has faced better fighters than Gennady Golovkin.

That's simply the reality of it.
