Canelo was 175 against Cotto. 175 POUNDS FFS!

And he's asking for a cw:?? what is this insanity, he's bigger than GGG for gods sake!

Has this ever happened before, where the bigger fighter is asking for a catch weight?

Not that I agree with the catch weight demand, but I wouldn't describe Canelo as bigger. Canelo may be heavier but GGG is taller and has a bigger frame overall than him.

never before has a champion and bigger man asked someone in his own division to drain down to a catchweight. at least with cotto u could believe he was really small for the weightclass. but canelo is just blatantly abusing a catchweight.

canelo should vacate if he will be asking people in his own division to drain down to 155 to fight him. maybe ring magazine can create a 155 lb weight class for canelo scum since he has fought there 4 times now.

If GGG is the smaller man then the catchweight shouldn't matter, right? Hell, it would even benefit Golovkin more, so GGG should stop bitching about it.

canelo has more experience fighting at his coward weight. canelo needs to man up and stop demanding some ridiculous doesn't make any sense catchweight. what the heck????? who supports canelo after this????? what a joke.

Canelo started his career at 147 and GGG started his at 160 and I'm pretty sure he fought at 168 in the amatures & Olympics....

I agree with you that it makes Canelo look ****** and l personally hate catchweights, but hey they happen and this will be no different. Canelo blows up more in weight so it obviously hurts him more here so l don't see the problem.

i see a big problem. i think wbc needs to strip canelo and suspend him for a year.

They didn't show fight night weights but wouldn't be surprising at all. He was 172 for Trout, 174 vs Angulo, and looked really beefy vs Cotto
