Is Canelo-GGG the only fight where the biggest fighter has asked for a catch weight?

Simple enough for you?

As to the thread question, the only one I can think of is Pac-Algeri, when Pac actually imposed a catchweight on the smaller Algeri who was moving up from 140.Last edited by OnePunch; 11-26-2015, 06:48 PM.

And he's asking for a cw:?? what is this insanity, he's bigger than GGG for gods sake!
Has this ever happened before, where the bigger fighter is asking for a catch weight?

Don't understand people hating on guys who blow up after making weight. I mean, if they made the weight, then what is the problem? There's benefits and disbenefits to fighting close to division weight, or blowing up on day of fight. Bigger guys might feel sluggish, slow, tire quickly. Just don't really understand what the deal with that is? My mindset on the issue is that if the guy is truly that big, then he left something behind trying to make weight...meaning you struggled to make weight and it will show in the fight. But, the guys who can comfortably make weight and then blow up, I mean its not hard to gain alot of weight after the weighin, since you are dry during weigh in, no food in stomach, etc.

When he rehydrates to 175, that includes meals that he ate the day of fight, and water weight. If Canelo is bigger, then he would be struggling to make 155 and GGG wouldnt have trouble coming down to 155. Don't think Canelo is a middleweight yet, and I think GGG has not fought good opposition and is only calling out smaller fighters.
god damn i wanna kick you in the face for even typing that

And this is a pretty new phenomenon. Back when every State did same day weigh-ins, there was very little of this nonsense. But now, when fighters have sometimes up to 36 hours to re-hydrate, it makes the idea of even having a weigh in somewhat silly. Whats the point? Its pretty much just a photo-op these days....
