Mayweather just made something like 200mllion bucks for one fight. Poor dying boxing.
this is why boxing is a dying sport....

Sometime the Raiders play the Eagles both team suck but they still got to play each other not all fights are superbowls....kevin bizier vs fredrick lawson was a main event fight. lara vs delvin rodriguez was a main event fight. this is why boxing is dying. no one should or would want to watch that. sure there are good fights every once in a while but who is going to waste their time waiting for that? over saturated the market with pure garbage. if you look at other sports they try to make the nationally televised games the ones people want to watch with the best and most exciting teams. they don't put the browns vs the jaguars on very often yet pbc thinks that's going to be a big hit? why would they think that? 2 unknown boring guys=success? oh the problem is that people aren't getting a chance to see unknown boring guys enough so lets put more of it on!Comment

The Canelo vs Golovkin situation & of course other situation similar..... Boxing is like the old wild west NO RULES & ORGANIZATION. ...fighter nowadays do what they want. They are to many belts per division. Fighters create their own weight classes & dictated term such as ring size, golves, etc. This is why boxing needs one Organization in form such as UFC,NFL,NBA to dictate and overview the sport of boxing. ALL FIGHTERS NEED TO FIGHT IN A EVEN PLAYING FIELD.
This is what boxing needs imo one champion per division; no catch weight title fights, I don't mind catch weights as long as they ain't title fights; random olympic style testing thru out the year; compubox as judge instead of normal judges; one size ring for all fights & standardized boxing gloves; also the champion must fight title defense at least once a year against a TOP 5 rated fighter in his division....thoughts?
We need fewer divisions. We have divisions at 105, 108, 112, 115, 118, 122, 126 and 130. How about at 110, 120 and 130 instead? This means that those at 105, 108 and 112 have to fight each other, those at 115, 118 and 122 have to fight each other and those at 126 and 130 have to fight each other. Some wonder about talentless divisions. It's because they are too split up. 3 and 5 pounds don't make much difference. I can see where 10 pounds does, but 3 and 5 is ridiculous. Take Rigo and Loma. With the new divisions, most likely they'd be in the same class and would be much more likely to fight one another. Make it one title and they definitely either would or somebody would have to be forever shamed for obvious ducking.
I've suggested the scoring thing before. It would be nice if we had one criteria like most punches landed. It doesn't always tell the true story, but let's face it. If you got hit more than your opponent and neither guy goes down, it's kind of hard to make a case that you won. Extra points would definitely have to be awarded for knockdowns. I don't know, though. This idea catches flack from nearly everybody I mention it to. And yes, it would be flawed as well since I'm not entirely sure Compubox is on the up and up all the time. When a lot of money is involved, they can be bought as well. So it's tough to say.
Another thing is same day weigh-ins. It is not fair for a cruiserweight to fight a middleweight for the "middleweight" title, as in the case of Chavez, Jr.-Martinez. I'm not a Martinez fan but the guy had to fight a cruiserweight size opponent. The result was the same except for the last round where Maravilla nearly got taken out. That would not have happened, had Jr. weighed 160. In fact, the fight probably wouldn't have happened at all but it's more fair to the fighters that they fight opponents the same size as themselves. After all, isn't that the point of having weight divisions in the first place?
The sport is still alive, but it's hurting badly. May-Pac made a ton of money, but failed to produce a decent fight on the whole card. People have short memories but people won't forget dropping a hundred dollar bill in this economy on that fight and getting screwed. If the PPV numbers keep falling, don't be surprised. And let's face it. The Superbowl, NBA Playoffs and the World Series are all free to watch. Boxing should be as well and I think with PBC that is possible.Comment
