Shane should win this lawsuit. Jin is claiming Shane destroyed her reputation with the news he came out with earlier this year. Thing is her reputation has been destroyed already so its not like Shane could throw it down the toilet more with this more recent ****.

It doesn't seem like it has anything to do specifically with business.

Those types of lawsuits rarely stick. Almost never. Proving actual harm is the difficult part as in seeking medical attention for anxiety related illness, depression, etc.

Why do people state falsehoods with such certainty? The damages that can awarded in defamation of character lawsuits are not limited to the potential or actual financial damages cause. The complainant can be awarded punitive damages, essentially designed to punish the defendant for defaming the complainant. The complainant can also be awarded damages as a means of compesation for the damage to their reputation, embarrassment they may feel, pain caused etc. by the defamation.

And non business defamations have even less success. Defamation of character is a dime a dozen law suit that rarely makes it to court and often thrown out. There should be a betting line because anyone betting that the suit never reaches maturation would be rich if anyone wanted to bet for those to succeed. What I mean to add was the business lawsuits are more successful than personal ones and they are not that successful.

Great fighter just a great guy. So sad he was married to such a low life female. People aren't stupid they can see just financially and emotionally ripped this guy off, and did nothing to earn it. He earns his income in the ring and she steals it. I hope she gets Parkinson's Disease.

A defamation of character lawsuit not making it to court shouldn't be lumped in the same paragraph where you're talking about the lack of success with these lawsuits. You have not explained why these issues do not make it to court, which is a problem when some of the reasons point towards the success of the lawsuit: people typically settle before the issue gets dragged the court, the would be defendant could agree to pay a undisclosed sum of money and recant their statements.

Saying that they're often thrown out is point. The same thing can be said of many civil offences.

There is a batting line. A person intentionally making false statements about an individual, to a third party, that damages that individual. I doubt that the matter will make its way to to the courts, but I wouldn't be surprised if Shane retracted his statements and made an undisclosed settlement.

Since when did an understanding a topic make someone a beta white knight? The law is the law.
