This is a disgrace, Canelo fought a wonderful fight on Saturday night but he needs to respect the sport and drop the belt and start fighting at 154, for a guy that come into the ring at 180 lbs I can't see the problem in fighting at 160 honestly. Canelo has grown into a middleweight now is the time to fight GGG at 160 and prove he has balls.Comment

Typical. When proven to be a complete moron, instead of acknowledging it, you deflect the topic.
Sorry, but you're still an idiot who didnt even know Canelo turned pro before GGG did.
As to what it "says", it says one guy went to the Olympics, and the other didnt.Comment

It says most ppl are done with the Olympics by 19-20. Not 25! That's a pro or Career Amateur Cuban or GGG.Comment

I don't care about belts, so they don't sway my opinion one way or another. As for Pac, they did a lotta shady stuff with the weights because they could. Fought Oscar at 47, but wouldn't fight Mosley above 42 or 43 because, "he's a better fighter than Oscar." Freddie Roach's words, not mine. Fought Cotto at 45, but fought a lightweight in JMM at 47. Fought Margarito at 50, for a 54 belt, when neither guy had a credible win at jr middleweight. It's a lot of things.
1. Pac won 6 divisional titles without CWs. Canelo 1st was 150 (failed to make by 2lbs) vs bum Hatton, 2nd 155 vs small Cotto.
2. Pac was coming up in weight both times, not defending the fcuking lineal belt
3. He wasn't blowing up 20lbs fight night
4. He's never try to pull lower division + 1lb b1tch move. Who does that?
And personally, I didn't have a problem with any of it. Its the boxing world we live in. The A-side dictates terms. And if you want a shot at a star, you're gonna have to bend at least once in your career. Plus, with 30hr+ between weigh-in and opening bell in these big fights. I don't think making weight, or even the actual weight limits are relevant nowadays anyway. If we live in the era of eight divisions, one title per, and samr day weigh-ins. Both Canelo and GGG would be light heavyweights. So what they weight the 30secs they're standing on the scale doesn't matter all that much to me.Comment

Let's nail a flag to the mast
Most likely outcomes in order
a) Canelo's team pays GGG's team to (i) step aside to Canelo so he doesn't have to fight GGG as mandatory at MW + an agreement to fight after that but (ii) at 157/8
b) Canelo's team pays GGG's team to fight GGG right away at 157/8
c) Canelo vacates and GGG fights Lee/Saunders
I find it hard to believe Canelo will want to abandon his brand (not afraid of anyone, will fight anyone, will fight the best) as in c) above, so I'm thinking a) and b) are much more likely. I think a) has the edge.
I see Canelo as having to pay for a) or b) because otherwise he just gets stripped.
So here's my best guess.
Canelo pays GGG to step aside
GGG fights Lee/Saunders and Canelo fights whoever
then
Canelo and GGG fight at 157/8
We shall see.Comment
