Cotto missed 500 punches lol Cotto lost and it wasn't close. Canelo landed more and had the harder shots that did damaged. Made Cotto miss a lot with his defense slipping punches and countering busting up his face. Cotto gets knocked out if he's not on his bike.
Damn near everyone except for Canelo fans and Cotto haters saw a close fight, which category are you in? Quoting compubox is useless, do you know that punches thrown and landed are tracked by a person? People only mention compubox when it suits them. I bet there's an old post of yours, where you bash compubox for the Mayweather vs. Pac fight. I've seen the fight 3 times, and yes Cotto out punched and out landed Canelo, Canelo got credit for a schit load of punches that did not land. Compubox is not a "fact", and anyone who suggests it as such, reveals there lack of boxing knowledge. While Canelo landed the heavier punches they were far and few in between, and Cotto was only visibly hurt in the 12th round, which is where 95% of the damage to his face was done. Your assessment of the fight is almost word for word in line with HBO commentary. Cotto didn't do enough, or make enough of an impression to win, and Canelo wasn't active enough, content to land a hard shot hear and there, while following Cotto around the ring. This fight was a draw, while I understand how people score it for Canelo, I laugh at people like you who pose as knowledgeable boxing fans, in order to give credence to the bullschit that follows.

Fight was kinda boring and had a clear winner. No need for a rematch.

Miura vs Vargas rematch? YES PLEASE.

A rematch only happens at a higher weight, in Cowboy stadium, and with Canelo getting a big majority of the PPV money. Cotto and Roc Nation have no leverage this time around.

The fact that there was no rematch clause doesn't automatically mean that they can't fight again (in case they sold big PPV numbers and there still is a demand). Unfortunately, WBC would not sanction such a fight, I guess... It would be too complicated even for them.

It was ****ing sad how much was stacked against Cotto in this fight. Compubox was **** and Cotto was the busier fighter and did land more. There is no point in a rematch. Cotto got a big middle finger from all parties involved, and it was an utter shame that it went down that way.

Got people saying the compubox numbers which are ONE SIDED for Canelo were rigged? and that HBO was on the take wanting Canelo to win. Even if you buy that nonsense the judges don't see those stats or see or hear the HBO broadcast why did they also have the fight one sided for Canelo? Oh I get it the State of Nevada and the judges are on the take too. Ok so lets take the judges, Compubox, HBO 3 separate en****** that according to Cotto fans are in a conspiracy. What about the 3rd party media outlets all at the fight and scoring ring side which all had Canelo winning and most had it comfortable? They don't have access to compubox, HBO broadcast or see what the judges are scoring real time. So now it's HBO, CompuBox, Nevada, and all these different media en****** that are all in conspiracy against Cotto?

Compubox shows Cotto missed 500 punches. Which is in line with what you saw every replay Cotto throwing jabs out of range and when he got close and threw jabs Canelo slipping them and countering. Cotto fans are making fools out themselves. In past fights that Cotto won these fans will use Compubox but now that the numbers are one sided against Cotto screw compubox? And screw the replays because time after time you saw Canelo landed more and making Cotto miss but damn that too. Sore losers like like your hero who ran like h0e out the arena without giving a interview or showing up to his post fight press conference. He's not the first fighter to lose be man and be professional. Lost respect for Cotto.

i heard he was 173..but no he shouldnt fight anyone else smaller unless he does a passin the tourch mega fight with pac or unless he gives bradley a well deserved pay day...

..if someone moves up to 154 and makes a name i'll take that as well..but i will only take bradley and pac as opponents coming from 154 bc they've put in the work..

and i dont think u understand..i dont like this weight crap either..the wbc ought to be a shamed that they let a man come in 20lbs heavier..i call for 7-10lb clauses per fight..if u cant make it move up and stop cheating the classes, but i can only live in the world im in tho bro

Why the talk of a rematch clause? Cotto doesn't want anymore of Canelo! Hell, he only fought him to avoid GGG, and got his ass handed to him anyway.

When Floyd Mayweather fought close and/or controversial fights against Jose Luis Castillo and Marco Maidana, he fought an immediate rematch with those guys to resolve any doubt about who was the best.

IF Alvarez wants to become the next face of boxing, he should fight an immediate rematch with Cotto to prove that he is truly the better fighter. However, he won't do that, just as he didn't fight a rematch against Trout or Lara and just as his mentor, Oscar De La Hoya didn't fight rematches against the fighters against whom he received gift decisions -- Pernell Whitaker, Ike Quartey and Felix Sturm.

Alvarez's failure or refusal to settle these disputes proves that he will never be on the same level as Mayweather.
