Which I find weird, because towards the end of Martinez's reign, he was ranked number 2 after GGG even though Martinez was the "champ", and Cotto was ranked number 2 after GGG when he was champ, somehow Canelo gets the number 1 spot.

He has Canelo ranked number one because he just beat the lineal middleweight champ. Whether you agree that Cotto was the best at middleweight is disputable. What isn't is that he was the lineal champ and Canelo beat him therefore making him number one in the division. Pretty easy to understand.

I don't pay attention to Dan Rafael's rankings, but was Cotto ranked no.1 prior to the loss? Because if he wasn't then ranking Canelo no.1 really doesn't make a lot of sense.

the middleweight record of title defenses is 14 and will remain 14 until an undisputed champion, like monzon, defends it 15 times

this idiot really brought up monzons record when addressing GGG...Hopkins has the most defenses of a trinket....Monzon beat Nino Benvenuti for the lineal title WBA and WBC was universally recognized as the middleweight champion

Hopkins has 6 total defenses...the rest were IBF trinket defenses

GGG is even worse because he won a "regular" or interim title and was elevated...never beat the number one guy or beat the WBA champion for that matter

they are making a mockery of what fighters gave there life to achieve for the sake of hype....Hopkins and GGG hold no legitimate record

              1. GGG
              2. Lee
              3. Quillen
              4. Alverez

I'd bet a ribeye at Ruths Chris that somewhere out there, somebody rates Broner over Fitzsimmons because Broner is a "4 division champ" but Fitzsimmons was only 3
