    Fat Dans, Updated Middleweight Rankings

Fat Dan has released his new MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION rankings, and has ranked Canelo as #1 in the MW division.

Which I find weird, because towards the end of Martinez's reign, he was ranked number 2 after GGG even though Martinez was the "champ", and Cotto was ranked number 2 after GGG when he was champ, somehow Canelo gets the number 1 spot.

    Pretty laughable really

His rankings don't seem to be based on a championship system, so he has a lot to answer for here...

Theres literally no dispute who the best middleweight on the planet is

I do not understand this. After a year plus of saying GGG is the top MW, he puts Canelo on top. Maybe winning the lineal title was the reason.

Canelo has to be ranked #1 because it gives GGG more legitimacy when he destroys him. Notice how Cotto & Canelo suddenly jumped into top ten p4p when Floyd retired. That was because they knew one of them would have to fight GGG. Looking at that list shows how terrible the MW division is. I've been saying that any top 5 JMW that decided to move to MW would immediately be a top 5 MW. This list is a joke, GGG is far and away the best MW in the division.

No surprise, Dan tends to rank lineal champs #1. He's got Adonis above Kov, and Cotto was above Ggg last week

Lmao it's a bit OD since both Canelo and Cotto are not really middleweights... but Cotto was definitely a better win P4P than Lemieux so can't be that mad at Canelo being rated higher.

Canelo's resume has better names on it but I think Golovkin is consistently excellent in the ring, is probably the better overall boxer, and is definitely the bigger puncher. Can't wait to see them fight.

So Canelo should have no problem fighting GGG at 160 since he's "number 1" of the division.
