talent is gauged by the opposition you face

Ive been following boxing for a long time, 3 decades worth of watching club fighters to the best of all time....I've seen this happen time and time again...A puncher gets overrated fighting C and D level fighters, is labeled a killer without fighting a killer, is labeled a monster without fighting a monster

Im sorry, Ive seen a lot of fighters with his talent, if not more talent who fell off soon as they started fighting elite fighters on the regular

I don't get bent out of shape and amazed because I see someone I know who is more talented than his opponents blitz them.....he is suppose to.....his opponents are overmatched.

On the flip side if his talent level was the same as it is, but he wasn't racking in ko's but fighting the same guys and dominanting, he wouldn't have all this unjustified hype

I always give him props on his skills, dude has a lot of talent and amateur pedigree but he hasn't earned the hype he gets cause he hasn't beat anyone elite and he almost has 40 fights

      uhmmmmm, huh????

if you actually followed the sport instead of one or two fighters you'd know your history.....Pryor started at 135 and couldn't get big fights....he fought at 132 as an amateur and was blitzing guys at 135 as a pro

I understand your point but I think they are separate.

Yes his resume sucks and its tough to judge if he can beat top talent.

However, he more than passes the eye test in terms of what he is capable of in the ring. You can watch a guy fight and see if he is raw and gets wins on power or if he brings more to the table.

        Just my opinion.

the eye test is for prospects, fringe contenders, and upstarts.....he is a unified titleholder in one of the most glorified divisions in the sport, that ship for him has sailed

Many fighters pass the eye test until they fight someone of equal or greater talent and their are fighters out there who can test him, he hasn't fought any yet

its put up or shut up time

He was asked a question, dummy. Your agenda has already been exposed so no surprise that your feelings were hurt by this.
