Vitali was a beast, ATG. But only thing he has over his brother is maybe a chin and heart. I still think Vitali would beat ANY heavyweight in history and any that are active today, prime Vitali that is. Never been knocked down in his career.
Vitali was a natural boxer, lead you into his counters all night, switching from offense to defense on the fly, without holding. Steward's Wlad has to be in total control at range or else he gets nervous and holds. Wlad, the better athlete, Vitali the better boxer, "hands down".

So did Foreman. Vitali hits plenty hard .

prime Vitali is the H2H GOAT at heavyweight

Only heavyweight I'd probably favour over him is prime Lennox

but I see Vitali beating more ATGs than Lennox could, due to Lewis' shaky chin and less variety of weapons.

Vitali was always better than Wlad, and would destroy any of Wlad's opponents including those who defeated his lil' brother, in fact, he did that twice.

Vitali just had a more imposing ring presence. No matter who he was in the ring with, even Lewis, it always looked like he was in command and just waiting for his prey to die.

Wlad went on to be the ATG champion and the huge KO highlight reel but he will always have this twitchy, binary style.

We will never know whether Vitali was better since injuries sidelined him during what should have been his title reign and he retired quite abruptly to pursue politics, but if the "eye test" means anything I think he would have broken Wlad down.

Definatley too bad he wasn't there sooner not that Wlad really needs more advantages .... the vid below shows them doing a little sparring stradegy.

                that footage was cool

it must be almost creepy how close those two are

I can't imagine at almost 7 ft each and military b**** they fit in very well, then they got the same PhD together, became HW champions together, became political figures together

When one dies the other is going to be like a Stark without their wolf

I think Wlad has the death stare actually.....Vitali had that confident look of lets get this over with your not going to win look.I would say both equal intimidators.Of course Vitali had the better entrance music.

Apart from the fact an out of shape Lennox caved in a near prime Vitali's face with punches and he had to be stopped in the 6th...

So yeah, they did fight, Lewis was finished and still beat him. I've never seen a win be denied so much by people. Lennox caused that damage to Vitali's face in the fight and he got stopped. I don't get why people can't see it. Fair enough it was competitive but Lewis did a number on his face in the end.

I haven't been paying attention and I'm curious as to who Wlad used as sparring partners?
