Any other fighter with just the least needed stamina and conditioning, other than Canelo, would have finished the job in that round and sent Cotto to the hospital (just saying, I really don't wish for that to have happened, but if Canelo just had a tad bit of stamina, it could have).

There was another round where Canelo also beat Cotto real bad and almost knocked him down as well, but I really don't remember which one. Same story in the last one. Canelo's pathetic lack of conditioning helped Cotto be able to literally run away, avoiding a knock down at the very least. If Canelo doesn't get some endurance, just enough to be able to finish the job as others with much less power can and do, he will never be able to prove an A-class fighter.
Give Canelo credit Cotto came out and realized he could not stand and **** with him so he was on his bike all night long. So Canelo was smart and didn't punch himself out looking for the KO. Roach clearly went in with one gameplan stay away from long exchanges stick and move and try to pot shot him and frustrate Canleo and hope he faded the final 1/3 of the fight. Canelo was ready and prepared and NEVER tired out. Never got frustrated. And Roach foolishly never changed up the strategy when Cotto was clearly losing rounds and struggling to lay a glove on Canelo. But then again if he does change his strategy and sits down on his punches he opens himself up and probably get put to sleep. Canelo was just a better fighter then Cotto. And the idea that Canelo wasn't that good because he didn't KO Cotto is pretty foolish to me. It takes 2 to tangle and if one fighter is on their bike all day then you ain't getting the KO.

Yeah, Cotto, all the world is wrong . Yeahhh

        COTTO YOU ARE CRAZY, MAN.
Great post and that's really inline with what fans have been saying. Let's keep it real almost NO creditible boxing outlets think Cotto won and besides a very small percent of die hard Cotto fans everyone who watched it had it for Canelo. The only debate is whether the scores should of been as wide. But the end of the day the right man won. Cotto and his delusional fans need to accept it and move on.

I agree that Cotto was showing his superiority in skills despite being outgunned in raw power by the stronger, younger man. But calling Canelo a "mummy?"

            • Forget what the fighter and their coach say, we know that's going to be delusional bull****. But anyone outside cottos camp or family who thinks he won that needs to stop watching boxing permanently. If anyone on here believes Cotto won, delete your account and go watch women's volleyball or something. That was not even a close fight really. At best if someone was being ultra generous Cotto could get 4 rds, maybe 5 to be absurd. Anyone who has Cotto winning 6-7 rds was watching another fight. Canelo backed him up all night, landed sharper harder shots and landed at a higher % in overall and power punches. How on earth did Cotto win that seriously? Man get ****ing real people. This is why boxing has so many problems because idiots have no idea what they are watching.

              • The scorecards were too wide but Cotto didn't win.

Then again, take that 11-1 scorecard, i personally think it's wrong but you could argue that Cotto didn't win ANY round clearly. The ones he did win, they were very close rounds in the sense if you wanted to give them to Canelo, you could find a plausible way that he won them. I still think 11-1 is wrong, but i don't think its totally impossible someone could see it that way but you would have to be looking for excuses to give Canelo the rounds.

I wonder if Chavez Sr., Barrera and the other Mexican commentators (which may happen to be Mexican box legends as well, such as JMM) have any issues with Canelo's performance both vs Cotto and in general. Strange though, because he (Canelo) just left the other huge Mexican TV network, to let TV Azteca broadcast his fights, not too long ago. I am really confused now about this specially because I saw Cotto win (not because Cotto was good, but because Canelo was so slow and lacking conditioning, to simply have knocked him out as I am sure any other real MW guys would have), and maybe I am just an ignorant about boxing even though I have followed it for a few years now.

OTOH, how about some scores from commentators on the other side of the pond (Europe and Asia at the very least) you sarcastically say the world is wrong, but this continent isn't even half of it actually, so let's be fair. Let's know what the rest of the world really thought about the fight. Or, didn't they even care about it?
Man, Canelo won. In that list are the most famous and recognized experts of the world.

Chavez Sr and Barrera said Canelo won.

Rodolfo Vargas y Carlos Aguilar (team Azteca) said Canelo won.

Just the old and ****** Lamazon said Cotto won.

                  Look.

Marquez hates Canelo. Chavez Sr had problems with him because his son and all that.

                  Their opinions are ****.

                    Yeah and look:

Carlos Narvaez and Damian Ferrer are the most recognized experts of boxing of Puerto Rico and both said that Canelo won 116-112.

With all respect but this "discussion" is very ******.

Canelo won clearly. 116-112 in my opinion.
