I re-watched the fight and the second time I saw Canelo landing more shots. CompuBox is not the end all be all. For example one fighter could be landing more punches but the other guy is doing far more damage in the fewer punches he is landing. But this is not the case. Canelo did the more damage and was the harder puncher look at Cotto's face. Canelo landed the harder shots and it's not even close. And even if Compubox which from time to time replay the fight and they might add or take away a few guys shots that they missed when they scored it live it's usually marginal at best if they update it. Re scoring the punches is not going make a big difference if they give Cotto credit for a few more punches then maybe he's out landed not as significantly.

People need to realize just because you moving all night throwing tons of punches don't mean you are effective. You have to actually land those shots to get credit. Cotto clearly threw more punches but go watch the replay Canelo slipped and block damn near all of them that's why his punch stats look so TERRIBLE and Canelo made him pay with clean flush shots. If Compubox re scores and gives Cotto credit for 5 more jabs and his landing percent goes from 14% to 18% it doesn't change anything. Those are horrible efficiency numbers. He was totally confused by Canelo's defense and counterpunching. I have to check all Cotto's other fights but this weekend might of been the lowest punch rates of his career. Only one worst might be his loss to Mayweather.

2016 could be the year of rematches nobody wants:

      Kovalev/Pascal
      Mayweather/Pacquiao
      Cotto/Alvarez

After twelve rounds, the scores were announced as 117-111, 119-109 and 118-110. Many in the press felt the scoring was too wide in Canelo's favor.

Same Diva; Look At His Face

He lost, nobody but he & Freddie thought he won. Scores were more like 115-113 or 116-112 in favor of Canelo, but not the scores judges came up with ringside. Cotto's face was all busted up, he wasn't strong enough to keep Canelo off or push him back. His power never stunned Canelo, and Cotto was rocked a number of times by Canelo. In the end Cotto was the whining diva we've known him to be. He got everything he wanted in negotiations, got $15M, and blew off the post fight presser, while Freddie showed up on his behalf. Cotto the unprofessional weasel can pack up and retire too; won't be missed. $15M and you can't spend 15 minutes with the press???? I'm sure had he won, he wouldn't spent an hour in there goo-ing over himself and Freddie and how nobody will dictate his next fight or opponent, like he loves to boast. Sergio Martinez said the same things about this azz. A real POS to deal with anywhere.

Cotto is like a reverse Prince Charming, so instead of the frog turning into a prince it's a prince turning into a whimpering little horny toad. This guy needs to check himself, it looks amazing unbecoming to behave like he is. He clearly lost, it's over, and he should move on with his life.

Maybe 8-4 in favor of Canelo or worse....

Cracks me up some think GB rigged this

GB wanted the fight to be closer so they could fight 3 times and avoid GGG, so why would they have judges rig it so lopsided.

Cotto's diva ass, and his fans are butt hurt. This was always a mismatch. Canelo is too big to be a JR.MW and he is now mandated to fight a real test. Kudos to him if he accepts this challenge. I'd be a fan for life.

However, this Cotto nonsense needs to cease. Dude was a blight on the MW division.
