Cotto fought a great fight against a young lion with a decent weight advantage.

He moves down a division or two and I don't think there is anyone who can stand up to him the way he's looking right now.

I don't know about that, he's really a welterweight not a JMW. What really hurt him a lot was that he never had a stable trainer in his corner, he could have won the Pacquiao fight but his skills eroded when he fired his uncle and had his strength and conditioning coach as his trainer. Got back to form under Diaz but lost to Mayweather and than Trout. Too many recent losses, too many change of trainers, too many wars. He said he will retire within a year.

Miguel Cotto is at the tail end of his career. He fought a good fight Saturday but he was in there with a young lion who fought a better fight.

Cotto is still extremely skillful. Has good speed, and good power left to give anyone in the welterweight or junior middleweight division hell.

One of this most glaring differences other than the weight advantage on Saturday was the power punches. You can hear and see the effect that Canelo's power was having on Miguel where as his punches were getting walked through by Canelo.

He is still extremely marketable, and is still a damn good fighter. But the end is coming for the future Hall of Famer. What a great career.

I agree with Oscar, Cotto still has some good performances left in him. He should just stick to 154. Cotto is not a big guy, I'm sure he could still make 147, just not sure if he could still perform well at that weight.

He still has the skills and power to compete and the name to sell fights.
