The GGG hate is real. If Glaser had said the fight had 5k buys, everyone of these posters spouting 97k at every opportunity would have run with that without question. And yet, I've seen the same posters repeatedly ignore Glaser's numbers for PPVs involving their favorite fighters. I'd respect them more if they were at least consistent about it.
How childish is that?
And I've never said that Floyd's PPV tanked, btw.Comment

No #CottoCanelo PPV figs yet. Will be few days but based on early satellite numbers, source involved told me it's a lock to do at least 900k

If this thing does well enough, they may green-light a rematch.
I'm sure it did do well, not just because Cotto and Canelo have a lot of fans, but because nobody knew for sure how they would measure up against each other.
The uncertainty factor wouldn't be there in a rematch. Everybody knows that Canelo would win again, though not everybody will admit it.
It wouldn't sell anywhere near as much if they fought again.Comment

900K is complete B.S.
DirecTV did around 150,000 buys, which projects to a total of well under 600K.Comment

If Fat Dan's numbers are real that's great. I think it was a fight that Canelo can build off of. If he fights GGG next year I think that one could do even better numbers. This fight had a lot of hype but Canelo was a big favorite.Comment

Yes. I work in sports TV and have friends at DirecTV. DirecTV consistently accounts for 25-30% of the PPV buys, so when DirecTV's numbers came back at a little under 150K on Sunday, that means that the total will be 600K or less.Comment
