Watched the fight again. That was actually a close fight. (Cotto/Canelo)

Close fight, the main difference for me was that the rounds Canelo won, he did so more clearly.

To me it was kind of like Broner-Malignaggi. One guy was throwing volume with less power, the other guy was landing the harder shots but throwing less of them.

Right man won, but it's clear that Cotto was never going to be allowed to win on the cards.

In case one wants to be sure that he will win against Canelo, he should KO him. Even Floyd got a split decision only.

        7-5, 8-4 for Canelo. 9-3, 10-2 is just ridiculous.

The bold is a good point. Floyd schooled Canelo almost every round. I scored the fight for Canelo 7-5 though. Cotto should've tried to do more. Most of the rounds were very close and Canelo would do just enough to steal them. Good win for the champ.

I wasn't even rooting for Floyd or Cotto.

Cotto landed more. Canelo landed less but connected with the more heavier shots which he should he is after all 20lbs bigger.
Hey bro how did you score the fight?

I can't recall anymore. What sticks is the fact. Canelo was a bulldozer with bad intentions. Nothing cotto threw affected him. Cotto threw everything including the kitchen sink and still he cant dent him. Canelo looked like terminator who had iron hands that made cotto feeling all those hard punches.

Canelo won the hurt business no doubt, but I have to say cotto landed more shots, but it's just that it didn't dent canelo.

Canelo was too big for cotto that night. But if we go the route we score points based on who connected more. Then I can honestly say cotto connected more.

Same as the Floyd Marquez fight. Floyd was 2 divisions huge compared to light weight bloated Marquez that night. Marquez was throwing combos after combos which seems to be bouncing of Floyd's protective layered skin. Hence, the perception was Floyd won it.

But if you look closely, Marquez landed more shots that night. It's just that Floyd the bigger man looks invincible since he looked like no amount of punches Marquez threw hurt him, thus Floyd won.

But in all candor, if the fight is based on who landed more and not who hurt his opponent more then Cotto and Marquez has an argument. But off course, we all know this is the hurt business, thus lethal punches that Canelo and Floyd threw that night did real significant damage so they won against smaller men.

                Nothing great about that.
