400K would be disappointing. I think 600K or better establishes Canelo as a superstar. Either way he's in the driver's seat though.

I don't see this fight happening next year. I'm with Gambler, I think May 2017. Would be pleasantly surprised if we do get it earlier but there are a lot of roadblocks that need to be cleared.

how did ggg balk at the ward fight? if you go back a couple years he tried to make it and ward said the time wasn't right. then ward tried to fight ggg at 50-50 split at the end of 2016. that's not a serious offer because ward knew ggg-cotto canelo winner was priority and ggg couldn't commit himself to a ward fight in another division at that time. it was a publicity stunt on ward's end more than anything. i'm sure ward would have fought ggg at the end of 2016 but he knew ggg wouldn't take that fight due to the circumstances so ward wanted to make ggg look bad to low information fans.

maybe its just me but i really didn't feel much buzz/hype for this fight...even my casual buds didnt have it on their radars...i hope it did well but i would not be surprised with a 350K report next week
