Was Ward's resume at 26 years old better than lil g's at 33 years old? Let's compare.
Ward top 3 wins at age 26:
1. Kessler
2. Miranda
3. Buchanan
lil G's top 3 wins at age 33:
1. Murray
2. Geale
3. Rubio? (idk lots of bums to pick from)
I don't think it's close, Ward's dominating win over Kessler is levels ahead of anything ggg has done in his entire career. Miranda only lost to world class competition in his early career too, he was a very dangerous fighter.
We just saw Murray move up to smw, and got outclassed by Ward/Froch/Dirrell's left overs from half a decade ago. Geale moved down to jmw and got completely blown out of the water by Cotto. Those are lil g's best wins by far.
I rank Murray a bit higher than SOG's recent tuneup of Paul Smith who put up a very similar fight against Abraham 2x, which is why Abraham rematched him.
It's pretty sad when you think about it, lil g's a middle aged 33 year old man and has yet to achieve anything close to what a 26 year old Ward did.
