    ggg's resume vs Ward's

Was Ward's resume at 26 years old better than lil g's at 33 years old? Let's compare.

Ward top 3 wins at age 26:
    1. Kessler
    2. Miranda
    3. Buchanan

lil G's top 3 wins at age 33:
    1. Murray
    2. Geale
    3. Rubio? (idk lots of bums to pick from)

I don't think it's close, Ward's dominating win over Kessler is levels ahead of anything ggg has done in his entire career. Miranda only lost to world class competition in his early career too, he was a very dangerous fighter.

We just saw Murray move up to smw, and got outclassed by Ward/Froch/Dirrell's left overs from half a decade ago. Geale moved down to jmw and got completely blown out of the water by Cotto. Those are lil g's best wins by far.

I rank Murray a bit higher than SOG's recent tuneup of Paul Smith who put up a very similar fight against Abraham 2x, which is why Abraham rematched him.

It's pretty sad when you think about it, lil g's a middle aged 33 year old man and has yet to achieve anything close to what a 26 year old Ward did.

It's not Close. Ward has the better resume and is the better fighter. If they should ever fight, Ward would son the Triple Duck..

How about GGG's resume over the past two years compared to Wards?

I agree with almost everything you say except paul smith has never even been european level to say murray is close to him is a huge insult.

Ward overall of course but he hasn't done a thing in 3 years.

Ward hasn't done anything for so long that this thread probably belongs in the Boxing History section of fantasy fights/resume comparisons.

Who shall we compare next? Kovalev and Mosley?

wards is way better but thats also all chit he did from 5+ years ago.

i used to defend ward but Im tired of all of his BS. Hes a complete disgrace. GGG has been fighting the better guys lately. The NSAC were right in not allowing ward to fight an unprepared journeyman on 3 weeks notice, its not even ethical, ward should be ashamed for being a top 10 p4p guy and trying to bring in some taxi cab driver for a beating who has 3 weeks notice to get ready.

It is insulting, because Murray is an underrated fighter who has only lost to word class opponents.

3 of those fights were very close fights. I still believe he got robbed against Martinez. He out landed Sergio, and he dropped him twice (although the corrupt ref only ruled 1 KD).

But to say Murray is "slightly above Paul Smith" is flat out hating. Paul Smith is a guy who got wrecked by Groves in 2 rounds.

Indeed. Had Murray got fair decisions he could have a win over Martinez and Sturm and have been a world champion, then his stock would have been sky high and he would have been hyped. The problem is people check boxrec and don't know the reality. He was robbed in those fights.

I don't think he did enough last night though, but it was a SD loss. Imagine he got the nod, and wasn't robbed in his other fights, he would be a 2 weight world champion with wins over Martinez and Abraham. Fine margins. To put Smith in the same class as him is a joke. Murray is a very, very good fighter. It took a guy like Golovkin to beat him clearly or without the help of judges. He can hang with almost anybody.

Yep, Murray is much better than Smith.

Paul Smith had a very similar first fight with Abraham.
