Can see where Roach is coming from. Cotto was generally busier and looked to land more in many of the rounds. He just didn't have the pop to affect Canelo. And just as importantly he didn't have the MSG crowd behind him reacting to every landed shot.

I have the utmost respect for Freddie Roach. Big fan. Cotto was not robbed. He lost a competitive fight against a fighter who was bigger and hit harder because of his size. Cotto was so tough he landed combos after getting hurt, but could not lay the hurt on Canelo because he was fighting one division higher than he should have. Canelo is a Middleweight and should fight the Middleweight champ next at the a Middleweight weight. Period.

i genuinely thought miguel would have kod alvarez. although very tough and durable i thought cotto would have methodically broken him down and how wrong was that! it was a very good fight with much to and fro but, it was a lot closer than lederman was scoring having only given miguel three rounds!
thats a fackin joke. i had it with canelo only two points up. miguel took loads of avoidable shots...those uppercuts and over hand rights when his hands were down labouring around...i was pleasantly surprised with miguels punch resistance in this bout. miguel did all of the work with canelo both countering and fighting back with excellent effect. dont they say you gotta go take the belt from the champ?! i didnt see that, i saw cotto initiating all the action with canelo joining in as i said with very good results.
its what it is, shame for miguel cotto but he loses no steam in my view and alvarez wanting another crack at floyd mayweather would only end the same way.
a rematch would be good with cotto although i would like to see canelo face galovkin or lemineaux next....!?!?!
