Canelo fan boys and Triple G haters = 155 is a fair catch weight

Catch weights are usually in between the weight classes...you know... 151... 144, 145...157-158... 164...172... etc...

155 doesn't seem like a fair catch weight at all...seems like a pure draining..

Have some real Mexican pride.
There are no ethics to this. CWs are tricky. But it is what it is. Every a side has acted like a diva, GGG is not about to get spared because he has twitter warriors behind him.

And GGG should not be spared: he has literally waited years, camping at 160, wasting a career fightibg bums instead of chasing fights and moving in weight. Where is the pride in that

There is a solution to this problem.

Canelo vacates the 160 belt and the WBC create a new, temporary 155 to 157 division, with it's own belt. Then all those guys who are too big for 154, but not good enough to fight Golovkin, can fight for the new belt till GGG either retires or moves up to 168.

        • The way i see it is a simple case of the middleweight class between anywhere above 154 to 160.

You find your most comfortable weight within those limits and your opponent does too but you don't lower the limit. It makes a mockery of the sport, the belt, the history.

Plenty of fighters come in below the limit week in, week out and there's no issue. So why not just have the fight at the 160 limit, then Canelo can come in where he feels most healthy...the way people have done all throughout history.

            • Canelo you just won the prestigious middleweight title of the world and you are big enough he carry the weight so please defend it as the title that it is. All this catch weight horse5hit is going to end up creating even more divisions for an already over populated cesspool.

              • Cotto/Canelo was a very enjoyable fight to watch, with good movement and good crisp punch combos from both men.

It was competitive, but Canelo won clearly. Roach is talking out of his arse again with this "We wuz robbed" nonsense.

All I get from this, is that you really aren't a fan of boxing, but instead just a fan of fighters from your country. Typical.

he doesn't need to move, he can comfortably make the middleweight limit. canelo on the other hand had to invent a new division because he's too big for super welter and too afraid to face golovkin at middleweight. if golovkin couldn't make 160 and was hiding out at 162 or something to avoid facing ward, then you'd have a point. oh and if he happened to own a super middleweight belt but wouldn't allow his potential opponents to weigh in at the super middleweight limit. i mean c'mon, it's a totally unacceptable situation
