Did GGG have the 168 lb lineal title and Ward was chasing him for it? No, fans want him to move up to fight a fighter in a different weight class. Canelo who now holds the 160 title and ggg is a 160lb fighter both same weight class. Its simple to understand idk how cant see the difference.

If GGG wants the payday he's been son desperately chasing, he's going to have to take it. A side rules.

But what is he says "screw you", refuses to be taken advantage of and just picks the vacated belt. OK, you can brag that for the time being Canelo is safe. But what is he going to do in the future? Middleweight will be a forbidden field for him because he said so himself. What lucrative fights he gets and in which weight? He tried to fight Cotto at 156 rather than 155, because it is not easy for him to make 155. 154 is even harder/ Is he going to create a next Canelo weight at 156 and then 157 - go to all these lengths just to avoid GGG? It will soon become a joke even with casual fans.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but being that GGG is the mandatory, I'm assuming he doesn't have to adhere to a catchweight to fight for the title? It's not like this would be a voluntary defense, where Canelo could dictate the terms.
