  • Comments Thread For: Hopkins To Keep a Close Eye on Abraham-Murray

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - Former unified middleweight and light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 32KOs), 50-years-old, is still planning to return to the ring in the first half of 2016.

Hopkins has been out of the ring since a November 2014 twelve round decision loss to Sergey Kovalev.

"The Alien" tells BoxingScene.com that he's planning to keep a close eye on tomorrow's super middleweight title fight at the Tui Arena in Hannover, Germany.

If Abraham wins, I see him facing Hopkins next. The WBO already said they're on board with that so they'll let Abraham put off the Ramirez mandatory (which is fine because he is still too green and would lose). If Murray wins, he will fight DeGale in a unification after DeGale beats Bute next week

Come one man, Hopkins has has a great career but no version of Hopkins would be Kovalev. Bernard fought the best fight he could have, a more active Hopkins would spell disaster. He would be more open to much bigger shots. Let it be man, Hopkins made a good run at light heavy but Kov proved his standing in the div.

All I have to say about that is hell NO!!

I want to watch a good fight not watch an old man bore us to sleep with circling around throwing 12 punches a round and 12 clinches with them, just no!
              Stay retired nobody cares Hopkins.

Murray can't travel to the US and Hopkins doesn't want to travel outside of it so that fight is a no-go.

Murray would fight anyway, he went to Argentina to fight Maravilla.
