Comments Thread For: Roach Recalls Nearly Brawling With Cotto in 2009

When Miguel Cotto (40-4, 32KOs) made a decision to pick up the phone and dial up Freddie Roach in 2013 - the veteran trainer called it "the best phone call that I received in my life."

Roach admits he was very surprised to hear from Cotto.

In 2009, Roach trained his star fighter, Manny Pacquiao, for a showdown with Cotto at a catch-weight of 145-pounds.

This fight will be the fight of the smartest fighter on the ring when the veteran layout his arsenal developed by Roach and knocked out the kid. End of the story! Cotto by KO.

Freddie Roach's arrogance always makes him in real physical confrontation w/ the other side, Ariza, Floyd Sr, Cotto.

Based on Roach's recent interviews I'm glad they have security at boxing events. Seems like he's been saved from multiples beatdowns in recent years.

The ego and delusion in Freddie is amazing. You hear these stories out his mouth and can't help but laugh. Like for real you think Cotto was scared of you? You old as hell with parkinsons and even in your prime when you were a fighter you weren't half the fighter as Cotto. He would of beaten the breaks off you and so would of Teddy Atlas. Punk azz Ariza had no problem kicking you on camera and you did nothing. But you listen to Freddie tell it all these guys are running scared and backing down from his old fool. lol

Cotto's gonna be wearing pink ( for real)

This was on the news a few months ago, something about supporting Susan G Komen.

"Nuestro uniforme el día de la pelea tendrá los colores rosado y blanco de Susan G. Komen", agregó el púgil, arrancando aplausos de una audiencia que se dio cita a la conferencia de prensa para el anuncio de la nueva campaña y la carrera de la citada entidad en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico Miguel Agrelot, en Hato Rey.

"Our gear will have Susan G. Komen's white and pink colors".
