Funny how all of a sudden there is talk about flashbacks of Margarito and now Manny. I'm sure Cotto had those flashbacks in the 2nd Margarito fight too, right? Please.

Canelo is not a 3 min pressure fighter, he goes in spurts. He clearly has shown difficulty with footwork, which means that as long as Cotto stays on his toes and only plants to drill a left hook he should manage to stay out of the danger zone. If canelo manages to clock Cotto, it may be a short night. We'll just have to see how well Cotto can take canelos punch. Besides, most people have neglected an important factor here, Cotto's timing. I don't care how young and strong Canelo may be, if he can't get his power shots off because he is being beat to the punch continuously, all that would be neglected. Cotto drills that left jab in there quite quickly and canelo may find himself with leather in the face constantly disrupting his plans.

Do you think it's a great idea for someone who isn't or wasn't a fighter to pick a fight with someone who is or used to be? The answer is no. Do you remember when floyds roided up bodyguards told Robert Garcia at the mayweather-maidana weigh in that they would ragdoll him? Robert Garcia was just going "whooooo...whooooo..." He would have beat the breaks off of those idiots. Many people here have no concept of what fighting a trained fighter would turn out as. It's like having some hipster from San Francisco pick up a rifle and try to outshoot a navy seal. Not gonna happen. I respect roach for being a man and not backing down. Say what you mean and do what you say. Can't disrespect a man for that.
He was a profesional boxer a lifetime ago. He is a frail, tiny, sick old man right now. When you saw the video of him and Ariza a punk non boxer (not a buff security guard) who's life looked in jeopardy? When I saw it I had the same take away as millions around the world oh my god stop this before that little old man dies. Ariza took major backlash with fans screaming how could you hit an old man with parkinson's disease. That's the reaction everyone in the gym had and why they pulled the Garcia camp away nobody said we need to stop before this professional boxer kills Ariza. lol And Roach sure didn't act like he wanted to fight either he was backing up screaming for help. Ariza was NEVER in danger it was the other way around.

Roach in his prime would of been killed by Cotto. Hell Teddy would probably kill Roach in his prime too. But you factor in how old Roach is and you believe these fairy tale stories that he is somehow intimidating people? Or he is somehow a dangerous man? He didn't intimidate Ariza but he's intimidating Teddy who is 6 feet tall and a known hot head who lays fools out? Cotto is one of the p4p best fighters in the world in his prime. If they wanted to beat the hell out a sick old man they would and damn sure didn't do so because old man river "stood his ground". They either didn't beat him up because they had no reason too, felt sympathy or because other people broke it up. Roach is delusional.

My fear is he's going to keep talking smack and get into it with the wrong person who's not going to care that he's old and sick. Hell we almost saw it happen with Ariza. If you put Ariza and old man Roach in a room alone for 5 mins who is the one that might end up dying? Let's be real. He keep f'ing around and somebody is going Don Zimmer him

A younger, prime Cotto would easily beat Canelo, no question about it. But he isn't young or in his prime, and Canelo will sc**** through. Neither will dominate.

once Cotto sinks in a few decent hurtful left hooks to the body and then switches to the head Canelo is done

Canelos about to find out that ko's dont come from brute strength but timing and turning the hook same way Cotto does.

I wish you were correct my friend, but sadly not. Cotto & Freddy should have got together years ago – this is too little too late. He's looked good since Trout, but against 2 faded gladiators & and the pointless Rodriguez. I expect Cotto will retire after this fight.

"Nuestro uniforme el día de la pelea tendrá los colores rosado y blanco de Susan G. Komen", agregó el púgil, arrancando aplausos de una audiencia que se dio cita a la conferencia de prensa para el anuncio de la nueva campaña y la carrera de la citada entidad en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico Miguel Agrelot, en Hato Rey.

I really have a strong feeling that Canelo will pressure and stop Cotto. If Cotto can't hurt Canelo then he is done.
