Comments Thread For: Canelo: I Love The Risk, Too Many Worry About The '0'

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez insists the WBC's decision to strip Miguel Cotto of his world middleweight title will not affect Saturday's fight.

The Mexican (45-1-1-KO32) can still become champion by beating Cotto (40-4-KO33), who was relieved of his crown by the WBC earlier in the week for breaching their rules and regulations.

And ahead of their clash in Las Vegas, Canelo was unequivocal when asked if his approach to the fight had changed.

I guess that's easier to say when you have an L and a D on your record and your marketable anyways.

thats the way a true warrior speaks and thinks. People who just think having an 0 means more than being remembered as a warrior are dumbasses.

        Truth

Canelo is speaking absolute truth. In a day where the best often don't fight the best, Canelo is a true throwback, especially for his age.

You see champions in other divisions go from fighting a Top 5 guy to fighting opponents who are often unknown guys or aren't even on the same level talent wise.

Fans need to give guys like Canelo credit for having the guts to challenge themselves.

Mayweather & Lara were his only risk.
Angulo and Kirkland were made for him!

Trout wasn't an easy style for him either.

Mayweather took a risk against the same guy Canelo is fighting. And still kept his 0.
