Arlovksi was also known as a stand up fighter his entire career, and he still is! He has won his last Schaub, Silva, Browne and Mir are all really good fighters.
Of course I know Roach didn't tell him to fight like that. Just saying Silva seemed to have a occasional delusions that he was a "slick boxer" when he really wasn't and paid for it.

Very early career (I got into MMA wayyyyyy back) Arlovski was actually a world class grappler from sambo tournaments who just threw punches when he was desperate. He became obsessed with being a boxer later on.

Reminds me of Arlovski. Another guy who started out well rounded and became obsessed with becoming a boxer and started using mostly boxing in MMA, of course started getting KTFO for using apples in an orange contest.
Silva has been slick against opposition that lacked boxing skills. Arlovski has always been a great boxer day 1, but lacked any other skill set. Dos Santos is a huge hitter with good boxing technique only losing to Cain Velasquez who is an all around great fighter.

What is funny is the hype jobs in MMA with no real boxing skill or technique and no other form of good stand up and are praised as being these physical monsters who no one person could possibly defeat.

Arlovski fell real hard after Fedor nearly killed him, i remember watching him in Strikeforce and he looked completely shot.
The weird thing is that it was mostly a mental thing because he never had any serious injuries and he is now back to his winning ways.
