Then they'll continue on with their supposed path... of unifying the division then whatever else they choose, which id hope to be moving up to 168

Itd be a dumb move business wise to assume Cotto is going to fight GGG anyway. Taking as much step aside as he can en route to getting the belt seems fair enough to me. If Canelo wins, the same applies really apart from the better chance of Canelo actually fighting Golovkin, a nice bonus. I mean, GGG could well offer Canelo step aside agreements whilst GGG goes for the WBO belt, and hopes Canelos body is 'ready' by then. Its a ****ty arrangement, but what can you do when it seems both Cotto/Canelo seem to be holding one of your belts hostage

I honestly fail to see what to criticise GGG for here..

            1. Ended his TR contract on good terms and landed the Mayweather fight.

            2. Stayed clear of network deals and fought his next fight on ShowTime

            3. Returned to TR and agreed to a Martinez fight under the condition he gets an easy tuneup on HBO

            4. Created a bidding war and used Canelo to get a solid deal in the Martinez fight

            5. Wins the lineal title and becomes the first PR fighter to win titles in 4 weight classes

            6. Uses the WBC belt to secure the best deal possible for another megafight

            7. Drops the title and tells the WBC like fools

Cotto is a king playing with pawns. I love it.

The 800k was for the fight to be sanctioned as a WBC title fight, by having GGG step aside as the mandatory challenger, which he shouldnt even have won the interim title in the 1st place. With Cotto being stripped of the title due to differences between WBC/Cotto & sanctioning fees, he's not fighting for the title no more, why should he still pay the 800k???
because the $800k was for GGG to step aside and let Cotto negotiate with Canelo as WBC champ, which allowed Cotto to negotiate a better deal. Do you really think the money split between Cotto and Canelo would have been the same without the WBC title involved?

Cotto agreed to pay GGG the 800k for that bargaining position leverage. He got it. He used it. And now he'll have to pay for it.......

And he had the nerve to say someone had shrinking balls. Cotto has moved up multiple divisions and fought top champions. Call me when GGG fights at LHW or cruiser

This whole situation couldn't get any dumber. Everyone involved tried rolling the dice and virtually all of them crapped out except for Canelo. Cotto knew that GGG was never going to be on his radar, and tried playing the WBC to his advantage. GGG knew that Cotto was never going to fight him and tried getting free money for a belt that he was going to receive uncontested. And the WBC as always, made up the rules as it goes along. I can't remember the last time a full champion was sanctioned to fight for an interim belt. They've all been *******s throughout this whole money chase. And in the end, the WBC could have avoided this whole WWE looking eye sore by simply sticking to the rules that they have established. Instead they chose to use their unofficial disclaimer "these are our rules that can be changed at the sole discretion of our pursuit of more money". As for Roc Nation, I was pulling for them but this is starting to become one incident after another. They signed a fighter at the end of his career that had already started letting people know that he had no plans of honoring his championship obligations. The best thing they can do right now is cut the check and chalk it up to the cost of a poor business decision.

We also see no end in sight as Canelo will more than likely beat Cotto and further these games with the title.

whatever clown. Cotto's best win was Judah, old Mosley, or crippled Martinez. Every other time he stepped up he either got his face bashed in or he got schooled.

All better than GGG's best wins. And at least he stepped up. Beeyotch!
