GGG is in the position to get the money and the title. What fool would leave $800,000 on the table that was promised to him.

This whole saga has really exposed a lot of you.

Why would he turn down 800k, if he knows he's going to get a shot at the belt anyway? What boxer doesn't want money, especially for doing nothing at all? I don't see how accepting a step aside agreement of 800k (knowing you have a shot at the belt afterwards) is not compatibile with wanting the belts? Especially as Canelo has a good chance of winning it...

          exposed as what?

With all the "GGG has a dream to unify all the titles" crap im saying that it was never about the title and that its always been about the money.

How biased fanboys get exposed is really funny to see.

How ******ed can you be that you treat your beloved sport like that?

The step aside deal was a prerequisite for Cotto-Canelo to be negotiated as a WBC title fight. Suilman was quite public with that a long time ago.......

and no, I dont know "when" the payment would have been made. My guess is after the fight when Cotto has $20 mil or more liquid

As a guy that's pro-fighters and grew sick and tired of fighters being abused by promoters and networks, I applaud the moves Cotto has made:

                  1. Ended his TR contract on good terms and landed the Mayweather fight.

                  2. Stayed clear of network deals and fought his next fight on ShowTime

                  3. Returned to TR and agreed to a Martinez fight under the condition he gets an easy tuneup on HBO

                  4. Created a bidding war and used Canelo to get a solid deal in the Martinez fight

                  5. Wins the lineal title and becomes the first PR fighter to win titles in 4 weight classes

                  6. Uses the WBC belt to secure the best deal possible for another megafight

                  7. Drops the title and tells the WBC like fools

Cotto is a king playing with pawns. I love it.

So stop speculating then. Assuming too much isn't a good thing. Let the things happen instead of having wishful thinking.
