That's completely in retrospect. At that specific period in time Harris looked like a dangerous option for Floyd, why else did he turn him down over Bruseles when it guaranteed him more money for the Gatti fight?

Now you just posted a video of Floyd talking tough in 2005, which is right after he turned down Harris for Bruseles. You can't start a thread with a video like that when the reality is he just shot down what at the time was a clearly more dangerous fight for the safer route.

Pretty much the same deal with Margarito/Baldomir. You're saying Margarito wasn't that good, but he was a hell of alot better than Baldomir. Floyd rejected the $8mill for Margarito the week after he beat Judah in April '07. Ellerbe said that Floyd injured his hand and wouldn't be ready in August and that they wanted to wait for the Dela Hoya/Mayorga outcome in May. He also bought out his TR contract then too.

Dela Hoya said he wanted time off afterwards. So Floyd goes after Baldomir in August '07 for a November fight, and not the higher rated Margarito. He claims he got more to fight Baldomir than the original $8mill for Margarito, which I don't know either way. But he still could've got more if he would've went back to the table and negotiated to fight Margarito - simply because the ppv sales would've been way higher to fight Toney than Baldomir. That would've made Floyd a bigger name going into the Dela Hoya fight the following May.

Listen, I hear what you're trying to get across. Floyd couldv'e fought these guys and baldomir, and made more money doing so than he had at the time. The question is are you going to acknowledge that they weren't good fighters. Regardless of whatever hype networks and promoters were trying to give these fighter, are you willing to admit that Margarito and Harris weren't that good of fighters? I give Floyd more credit for beating Baldomir than if he beat Margarito, honestly. Zab Juah's better than anybody on Toney's resume of untainted wins, and that says A LOT. Picking Brusles isn't worst than picking Harris keep it real man, Harris had the hype but he wasn't good and it wasn't warranted

All what you're saying is bull****.

The Margarito fight was a package deal with Oscar and Hatton.

Floyd agreed to Margarito and asked for more money for Oscar and Hatton.

              Bob said no.

              Floyd left him.

If you think that's a duck then you really need to grow up. Seriously. Grow up.

You fail to mention Arum did not agree nor want to try to get him the Oscar fight which is why he left Top Rank and the Baldo fight was promoted without Top Rank

I'm almost positive he wasn't following the sport then. Or now.

They fought Bruseles b/c it was an eliminator for Gatti/WBC. But Main Events already offered him a guarantee to fight Gatti for even more money if Floyd fought WBA champ Vivian Harris first.

Floyd wanted Cotto at that time? That's funny b/c Miguel was a WBO champ like Margarito, and pretty unproven at that point having just beaten Pinto in September '06 for the title and Bailey in December '06. Sounds about right for Floyd.....

It's why I mentioned Floyd bought out his contract from TR. You conveniently left that part un-bolded.............
