If you can look at his resume and tell us that he's afraid of a beating with a straight face, I'd be surprised. It seems more likely that he didn't want to take a beating for peanuts. And like it or not, GGG's recent PPV numbers speak volumes about how he's viewed as a fighter. Casual fans are at least smart enough to tell when they're being sold a hype train in undermatched fights.Comment

Can't argue with that logic. Or say I won belts that don't matter in 4 divisions. Ultimately I had a really cool belt made that says, in this house I am king.Comment

I think people say a lot of things that they don't actually think about before they say. The true statement is belts mean less than they ever have & belts largely mean lil to nothing to brand name boxers.
So sure how many belts you won or how many champions you've beaten is a useful stat to quote cuz its about the only thing you can quote these days that suggests a certain high level of quality (like if you're talking about MMA fighters & one is 15-5 & all his fights are in the UFC & the other is 18-2 & he's 0-2 in the UFC, the guy with the worse record but more success in the UFC is more telling about the quality of opposition & would suggest he's likely the superior fighter, boxing has nothing like that except titles, title fights & champions faced) because its one of the only ways to **** measure boxers against each other, but the value of being a champion has never been lower all the same.Comment
