I don't know if it is a rule but he refused to fight a guy that weighed in at 160

Not to sure about that. And not to sure Cotto doesn't get his money back if he did. GGG is not stepping aside for anything. Cotto is not the Champ so in turn he is not stepping aside.

Also if Cotto wins GGG is the champ by default. Trust me that 800k is coming back to Cotto if it has been paid.

        That speaks for itself.

Sure he is, that's why almost every article about this fight mentions GGG's name.

GGG hangs over this fight like the boogie man.
Sorry but he did make history, that is in the books.

Sorry but GGG is not in on this event, he is not on the card.

A potential megafight where Mayweather would fight for a title in his sixth weight classs?

          How times change huh?
they have no shame man. If cotto stays at middleweight they'll still consider him the lineal champ even though he's not fighting the number one guys, which is what being lineal is all about.

Thats the dumbest thing I've heard all week. The fee was paid to GGG in exchange for him stepping aside and allowing Cotto-Canelo to be for the WBC title. He held up his end, and thats a done deal. Cotto is the one who now doesnt want to pay the WBC, which has nothing to do with the GGG situation.

You cant be this dumb? Wait, dont answer........

The belts are meaningless. It won't make a difference if they fight for the belt or not.

As per the step aside money for triple G the Canelo/Cotto fight is bigger than a Cotto/GGG fight at this time. It is more even and is the right match at the right time.

Triple G will be such a huge favorite for a good reason

You make no sense. History has been made, he won the title and he also defended it vs GGG's best win and beat him in better fashion. Cotto is superior to GGG in boxing accomplishments, GGG is a nobody, therefore fighting him at 160 (his teams demand) isn't relevant to Cotto. GGG can have his title and stay in one of the weakest divisions in boxing.

Just admit your 'good boy' Cotto is scared of GGG paying him 800K to fight other boxer named Canelo...

Well I can't believe I'm saying this, but bravo to the WBC, Cotto has no intentions of fighting GGG, and Golovkin has been patient and understanding allowing Cotto to fight Alvarez. Now GGG can either fight Canelo at 160 should he win or be WBC full middleweight champion. Great announcement.
