  • Comments Thread For: Naseem Hamed: Lee-Saunders if FOTY, Not Like May-Pac

British boxing royalty Ricky Hatton and Naseem Hamed both believe the big end of year blockbuster showdown between Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders on Saturday 19th December at the Manchester Arena is too tough to call.

Lee’s WBO World Middleweight title defence against Saunders, his undefeated mandatory challenger, features alongside another big world title fight between WBO World Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Smith making the first defence of his title against Jimmy Kelly, with SIX further big title fights, exclusively live on BoxNation.

First I've heard of Smith's opponent being confirmed. Never heard of Jimmy Kelly, apparently 16-0 (only 5 had winning records).

7 WBO titles on the line in 7 fights, not really surprising as through his ups and downs WW and WBO have kept this relationship strong for 20 or so years now.

I'm very concerned that Lee might lose a decision to Saunders, whether fair or otherwise. I could see BJS winning with volume, but also Frank needs this win bad. BJS as a title holder becomes a good bread winner for him.

Yeah I think BJS is going to take a PTS victory on this I don't see him stopping Lee that and when BJS gassed in the Eubank fight I doubt we will get to see this happen.

I expect Saunders to come out with a fight plan to just outbox Lee for 12 rounds I certainly don't expect this to be a FOTY contender.

          How to promote a fight.

          Step 1: schedule a fight.

Step 2: promote the fight so poorly it has to be delayed and moved to a different venue.

Step 3: Mention Floyd Mayweather as much as possible while promoting a fight he has nothing to do with.

Step 4: Lose money on the fight

          Step 5: Blame Floyd.

He mentioned Floyd and Pacquiao, can you not read?
He is well within his rights to mention both guys because they BOTH put on a ****ing god awful PPV event that was overpriced and had absolutely zero under-card fights on that mixed in with the fact that the actual main-event was a pathetic joke to boxing?
Maybe you didn't pay for it, maybe that's why you don't give a **** but most of us on here wasted money on that terrible event and I'm just glad it wasn't to the same extent that the Americans had to pay $100 for one of the worst PPV fights of all time, you should definitely promise fans that your PPV will be better than that.
