Not that I don't like to hear a genius tell everyone how smart he is... but feel free to take a look at the Bovada pre-fight odds.

So yes, my friend, it was an upset. A big surprise? Perhaps not. But an upset.

-205? That's not a huge enough number to consider it an upset, at least to me. It's not a case of Dawson-Stevenson, where Dawson was -1400. I don't think anyone following the sport thought that Donaire had a sure win coming. Vegas calling it an upset doesn't make it an upset to the fans. Just my opinion, but everyone has one of those >_>

So, it's not an upset because "It was a beating that Holm was administering until the knockout came"?

Wasn't that precisely what Douglas was doing to Tyson until his KO came? Unlike any of the others on my list, Tyson-Douglas was a fight where the underdog was kicking the snot out of the favorite before ending it. Just like what Holm was doing to Rousey.

Tyson dropped Douglas with an uppercut in that fight so it wasn't all that one-sided.

I think the Holms victory was closer to the Marquez KO. A good amount of people expected Holms to do well and possibly win the fight. I don't think too many people expected a KO via kick to head. A lot of people thought Marquez could win but no one expected him to put Pacquiao to sleep.

Btw Buster Douglas did not beat Tyson every minute of the fight. He was doing well but he was also taking some punishment himself. People like to forget the long count after Tyson knocked him down. It doesn't diminish the enormity of the upset but a lot things went right for Douglas that night and Tyson did not do himself any favors in preparing for the fight. I doubt Douglas would have been be able to duplicate the win if they ever had a rematch.
