Tyson/Douglas was an upset. Holm's knocking out Rousey was NOT an upset. It was a beating that Holm was administering until the knockout came.

I don't think you know the definition of an upset.

Rousey was built as an unstoppable unbeatable force. Not a "once in a lifetime" fighter but a "once in forever" fighter. This is up there with the biggest upsets of all ****ing time.

I think people at least acknowledged that Rousey did not have an excellent stand up game, and that Holm did. Don't get me wrong, it was a huge upset, but I don't think it comes close to Tyson/Douglas. It is in the conversation with several other major upsets (I wouldn't say Pac/JMM was a major upset, but it was a stunning way for him to win).

I'm actually pretty interested in seeing Ronda return from this, and at some point or other do a rematch.

Not as great an upaet. As the "experts" claim as RR had NO idea how to fight a southpaw or negate her reach...wjich does not say much 4 her preperation by her "trainer". I xpect the sameresukt is a rematch, may go longer but HH wins...I'm certain this cancels any chance of the fraud fighting Chris "Cyborg" who would gave beat her worse...Go away rousey, you had your 15 seconds...

Not that I don't like to hear a genius tell everyone how smart he is... but feel free to take a look at the Bovada pre-fight odds.

Odds (via Bovada): Donaire -205, Rigondeaux +165

So yes, my friend, it was an upset. A big surprise? Perhaps not. But an upset.

I swear I was just thinking that.

So, it's not an upset because "It was a beating that Holm was administering until the knockout came"?

Wasn't that precisely what Douglas was doing to Tyson until his KO came? Unlike any of the others on my list, Tyson-Douglas was a fight where the underdog was kicking the snot out of the favorite before ending it. Just like what Holm was doing to Rousey.

It wasn't an upset if you new Holm

Rousey had an inflated record beating tomato can fighters period. She actually fought a professional and not a novice who had a lot of experience and she got destroyed. If they fight again Rousey will be beaten even worse. Even though media isn't reporting it I'm betting Rousey had a concussion. It takes a special fighter to comeback from a brutal knock out and not be gun shy. We'll see if Rousey has that special heart.
